Cross Culture Project

As long as it seems there are some Orthodox music lovers in the discussion, I must ask how many have heard of the Cross Culture Project (compilation CD of non-liturgical music by Orthodox artists)? I was somewhat involved with it, and now there's talk of a volume II being released in the fall (featuring new artists), but I'm not sure volume I has reached far enough yet to release a volume II.
Does anyone have feedback or suggestions about this? Its supposed to be a tool for outreach & encouragement...how do we get the word out about it's existance?

I've never heard of this, but I'm a relatively new convert....may I suggest the "secular" cultural festivals such as those that are held in Reno annually:

The Celtic Festival (sponsored by Fitzgerald's Casino)
The Italian Festival (mainly co-sponsored by the Carano family who own the El Dorado, Silver Legacy and Circus Circus casinos)
The Basque Festival (sponsored by John Ascquaga's Nugget Casino...I think!!!)

There are several others that draw hundreds of thousands each year. Reno has a myriad of various cultural and special interest events that would be great for your outreach...(we really need it here). Also, you have ME angel: ) as your local guide. Contact the Reno -Sparks Chamber:

Try getting the label to send promo copies to Christian and non-commercial radio stations.

Also, I am a DJ at my university's radio station, and I am allowed to play music from my personal collection on my show, as long as it's not top 40 and doesn't violate any FCC rules. (Don't worry, someone handles royalties and stuff.) If I ever get around to ordering a copy of it for myself, I'll definitely try to give it some airplay.

IIRC from my DJ days in College, it is the former that was most important.

Yeah, the FCC is really cool about accidental obscenity violations at college stations.

We don't do safe harbor, but if someone drops the F-bomb or any other obscenity by accident, we only have to write it down in the obscenity log, and they don't fine you or anything. (If you don't write it down, though, that's when the big nasty fines and other such trouble enters the picture.)
