CRISPR/Cas9 is a revolutionary genetic engineering tool that has been used to edit the genes of plants, animals, and even human embryos in laboratory settings. Musk talks about a genetic modification to make humans better suited to life on Mars. For me, the question is not so much what we can do or what we have done with CRISPR/Cas9. It is a question of what should we do. As I have said many times, my father and both my brothers are doctors. So it is very common for us to have this sort of discussion at the dinner table. Usually, this discussion has to do with what is possible and what we can do. But should we? Is it right to do this?
