  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just found out that Steve Irwin (as in, the crazy Aussie crocodile hunter) has died! It's all over the internet news.... He was filming a documentary in the water and got stung through the heart by a stingray.

What's worse is, his wife is trekking in the mountains somewhere and is un-contactable. So the world knows, and she doesn't yet.

I think this is really sad. And I think that the media should at least be withheld till the next of kin finds out about stuff like this... :( :sigh:

I at one time thought Steve Irwin a nut but grew to really like him, laugh with him and yes at him sometimes because he was such a crazy gator fiend. I shed a tear tonight. I feel he's left some great legacy on Animal Planet and dread..really dread telling my little brother in the morning the guy he loved to watch is gone from here. It's a life and career choice he made though, and diving has it's risks. I say a prayer for his family.Bye Steve!

Makes me sad to think of kids, growing up now, who won't get to see him like I did. I mean, he was my hero. My one, true, bona fide hero. To think of everything he did to bring people closer to animals, especially the ones that no one else liked...

I hope they continue to air his shows, maybe even continue filming (at, say, the Zoo); not just to keep some regularity in those lives most closely affected, but, I mean, to keep spreading his message...

RIP, Steve Irwin. Crocs Rule!

I was camping at the time and I thought it some wierd camp thing people did, going around making up stupid rumors. But I came home and found out that indeed it is true.

I keep thinking it's just a case of mistaken identity....
