OK so not a Courting Couples topic, but this is where I spend all my time so I thought I'd post here...

But my boyfriend and I just found out that Steve Irwin (as in, the crazy Aussie crocodile hunter) has died! It's all over the internet news.... He was filming a documentary in the water and got stung through the heart by a stingray.

What's worse is, his wife is trekking in the mountains somewhere and is un-contactable. So the world knows, and she doesn't yet.

I think this is really sad. And I think that the media should at least be withheld till the next of kin finds out about stuff like this... :( :sigh:

It is not appropriate (or kind) to criticize the man.

a man who jumps on croc's for a living . . . i have always criticized that, i have always said one day he is going to get hurt and he has, admittdly i thought is would have been a croc that hurt him not a ray

this was a freak accident and one that has shocked all of australia, my deepest sympathies go to his wife and children

I have to admit that it really put a damper on my day...I remember watching all the croc hunter I could find when I was a kid!

Yeah, you've got to imagine with the line of work he was in, but, I guess I just always imagined of all people, the croc hunter would make it through okay.

Tis a sad day...he will be missed....and I really feel for his wife, and young, young kids.

I've watched him since the mid 90's. He was really someone that I admired in both his work and the fact that he was a great family man who loved his wife and kids. He is a huge loss to the conservation society and animal lovers and scientists. His work has done many things to improve all aspects of how we looked at animals and he brought knowledge and understanding to viewers who otherwise would not have had it.

It's a sad loss that I am shocked by. He had an amazing effect on the world.

My boyfriend and I work for a major Internet Service Provider. I had the day off today but he said he heard a lot today about it. It's on the homepage for when people log in, so when he took them to the website and they signed in, they paused to read it and one guy was like "Crikey!"

I used to watch his show ALL THE TIME. This is so sad.
