Awefully quiet on here....

I hope the brethren aren't worshipping in vain, following the traditions of men...

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen...

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

...just sayin'

I've brought in Sherlock Holmes to see what he can find out about the vanishing posts---did everybody get talked out or has everybody given up thinking "what's the use, if they are just going to blot out all that work?" At least an explanation would be nice! Was it something I said?? I thought I was the last one to post before it went "poof!"

Dear Friend,

You will find that just as in Elijah's day were only '7,000' who have not bowed the knee to the pagan god, so today there is only a handful of faithful SDAs who have not followed in the footsteps of Rome.

Virtually all of Adventism is now worshiping the golden calf as the Israelites had done on mount Sinai. They have taken pagan gods, rituals, customs, and symbols and are proclaiming to do it in honor of JEHOVAH. With joy do they wish each a 'happy destruction of Jesus Christ' for that is the only true meaning behind the phrase 'Merry Christmas(Christ-mass)". It is vividly clear to students of prophecy and the Bible that God has clearly spelled out in Ezekiel 8 that the celebrations of christmas and easter will be the second worst abominations that His people will be committing at the end of time.

Friend, you may feel like you are all alone. Do not lose heart, for your Savior went through a similar experience. In this time of apostasy let us heed the words of the prophet, "To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battles of the Lord when champions are few--this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from their cowardice, and loyalty from their treason." Testimonies Vol.5 p.136

We are about to enter that test. A great shaking will come to the SDA church within but months as the Laodicean message will be proclaimed within spiritual Jerusalem, the SDA Church, under the power of the latter rain. Be vigilant, and follow the Lamb withersoever He goeth. Make the Word your Anchor. The commandment for the watchmen for this time is ever clear, "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins." Isaiah 58:1

Have a blessed Sabbath.

If it's worth anything, I go silent to maintain my sanity lol. I get too close to saying something that I'd rather not if I stick around too long

I completely understand brother...

I think we would do best if we stuck to answering and encouraging those that come in with a seeking spirit and to not engage in these useless debates with people that are proven to not want to learn anything about Seventh Day Adventism.

this an anti-xmas thread?

I didn't think that it was when I responded but now realize that it was / is an anti-Christmas thread...
...Still wished the best to those who think the time is dedicated to Satan.
...I would still give credit to SDAism however as it is the ONLY Adventist group that doesn't officially condemn Christmas as Satanic.

The JW's / Christadelphians / WWCOG 7th day all condemn Christmas as Satanic.

Probably because it is...

You tell me one aspect of this time of year that glorifies Christ? Is it the selfishness? the idolotry? the lying to little children about a god like figure that helps dilute their belief in God? the practice of decorating an evergreen strickly forbidden in scripture? the name of the day that signifies a death ceremony? the perpetual image of Christ as a helpless baby? the spike in suicides? the spike in domestic violence? the spike in crime?

Come on Pythons, lets hear your list of things that glorfies our Saviour this time of year.

If attending a midnight Mass was ever a part of your tradition growing up you would not look at it that way...
...Perhaps if one focuses on everyone who does not observe it correctly.
...They will be blind to the ones who do.

It's easy to point at the world and gloat about how good we are compared to them....
...However to do so is to miss the message of the Gospel.
...& that is that there are no "good guys" - we are all bad and die in our sins w/out the blood of Christ.

So the only thing you can come up with that you think glorifies Christ is to attend a 'mass' at midnight...

From the Catholic Encyclopedia..
the most important is that the Church intends the Mass to be regarded as a "true and proper sacrifice",

So, sacrificing Christ afresh is glorifying His birth? Strange customs and traditions indeed....

Col 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Unless you can show me one scripture that commands us to celebrate His birth, then it is a tradition of man.

Jesus "celebrated" the cleansing of the Temple and I don't think you are going to find a command in Scripture....
...To observe the Feast of the Dedication.
...Furthermore, Jesus said in speaking of Himself that He was greater than the Temple.
...Connect the dots.

Obviously, Python cannot convince you of anything. (neither can I)

Show me 1 command to celebrate birthdays or to take showers? If you cant show it, then it's a tradition of man. (mirroring your line of respect and reasoning)

What make traditions a bad thing ECR?
What form of worship does not become a tradition of man?
...............................................................................................
Here a better view of why the world seems to celebrate His birth.

Luk 2:11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

If the human birth of a saviour of mankind does not move you to celebrate a birth, we dont have greater reasons to celebrate anyone's birth.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

If you dont understand that the birth of our Saviour and prince of peace is a reason to celebrate His birth. Look at what God said about His birth;
Hbr 1:6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

The tradition of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ builds faith in men and children about the humanity of Jesus Christ.
God's promise to Adam and Abraham has come to life in the birth of Jesus.

The bible teaches us about the wise men who travelled far to offer gifts, unto Him who is born the King of Kings.
Were they commanded to do it? Who says we have to be commanded to celebrate His birth?

The devil would celebrate if we stopped.

Yeah a double-edged pun........
According to Paul full statement, sabbath days, and holy days are non-issues.

ESV - Col 2:16 -Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.

Some commentary interprets the KJV to suggest that "sabbath" implies other sabbaths than the weekly sabbath. If you say more than the given understanding you should put an asterik
Take another look at how all the bibles versions translates this text...
The fact that the following verse explains that sabbaths are shaddow of the real rest to come.

Have you seriously looked at the state of the world lately... your theory would have merit if man were coming together and not trying to destroy each other. I refer to my list of what this time of year means to most.... debt, misery and debauchery.

Perhaps you live in a bubble...
