  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would like to share with you an experience of mine. An experience with creeping compromise. I have discovered that compromise is a very very long wedge. At one end it is needle-sharp, making only the tiniest of holes. At the other end it is as wide as the gulf between my God and I when I walk away from Him.

I don't recall whether it started with an old favorite rock CD I found in the garage, or a spiritualistic fantasy novel I stumbled across in the attic. It may have been the violent video game I set aside instead of throwing away with the rest.

What ever it was, it lead to more of the same. Now, I struggle against real backsliding. God showed me what I have to do. House clean. Pray. Pick up His Word.

I share this victory story with you, to encourage both of us. We worship a wonderful God.

God bless you and I look forward to spending more time here and less time elsewhere...

Much love,
2Tim ;)

Thanks Tim!

For the first time in my life I stop and think about all my activities and ask "will it glorify God?" If it doesn't, I turn away.

Doug Batchelor was asking everyone to consider giving up television for just one week. I could do that easily. It's other things that want to "creep in" with me.

We all have our burdens huh? Thankfully we can overcome with His help and I am slowly but surely learning to move over and let HIM drive.

God bless,
~Lainie

I hear what you are saying Tim ( I think) but spiritual growth is God directed not person directed..... people can be in a sterile environment and still not be in tune with God.... having or getting rid of something has to be God-directed, which is what you are saying I think....

We can decide to remove things from our lives which may or may not be essential, but it is essential that whatever thing God has impressed us to remove we gladly comply....

I couldn't agree with you more Tim. I have been going through many struggles of my own for several months now. I found your post to be encouraging. The world has many distractions to offer us that will turn our hearts and minds away from Jesus. I would like to take time now to make a new committment to spend more time focusing my thoughts and actions on God's word.
I thank God every day for His forgiveness.:amen:
