Creative Correction

I have been reading the book Creative Correction by Lisa Welchel. It is an amazing book. I am already using some of her ideas and they work wonderfully. Has anyone else read this one?

I was bothered by her advocating tabasco sauce. This was another technique of my mothers and used to leave blisters in my mouth. To this day, I cannot smell the stuff without throwing up. It leaves me in a cold sweat. For some reason I don't think discipline needs to be cruel.

I just wanted to make sure you knew that that is only one of her suggestions. Her book is full of alot more than just that. So if you haven't read it, you may want to check it out. I find that any parenting book I read, I have to keep what I think is good, and forget the rest.

I know. I read the book. I really admire Ms. Welchel in many other areas. Believe me, after that I contacted her about the hot sauce thing.

I haven't read it. Maybe I will though. I agree with taking the good and leaving the bad. I haven't read a parenting book yet that I agree with everything. But the one I DID throw out was the one that went against other doctors advice and said you should lay your newborn on their stomach. I decided he was a fool to consider himself smarter than the greater scientific and medical community, enough said.
