Okay, thanks.

I'll check into it.

Intelligent Design is a joke; and if the Dover judge(s) equated it with Creation ... well ... as I said ... spiritual wickedness in high places.
Well, that's where it gets interesting you see, as it was the professional creationists who equated creationism with ID.

Creation >> cdesign proponentsists >> ID

You might even say creationism "evolvled." ;)

In the same vein, there's no empirical evidence or proof of the Resurrection, but the subsequent behavior of the Apostles, the exponential growth of Christianity, and the estimated two billion followers of a poor carpenter turned itinerant preacher all provide compelling evidence.
I like your way of thinking!

In fact, I use basically the same reasoning as evidence for the existence of God: cause-and-effect.

Christian holidays, edifices, songs, martyrs, and literature all attest for the existence of our Saviour.

When John the Baptist was in prison and asked if that man was Jesus, Jesus told John's disciples to go and tell John what they saw: the dead raised back to life, people healed, etc.

Matthew 11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Evidently it got shut out of the courtroom.
It's never been in the courtroom, actually. The US is a secular government with secular courts.

To be fair, we really don't know what the "subsequent behavior of the Apostles" actually was, and Christianity almost died out had it not been for Constantine almost 300 years later. I guess we all have different thresholds for what "compelling evidence" might be.

"Professional" -- that says it all.

Amateurs built the Ark; professionals built the Deepwater Horizon.

Oh, I understand that.

I just happen to believe that, while there can't be empirical evidence or proof of creation, there is still compelling evidence of it, some of which I listed in my previous post.

In the same vein, there's no empirical evidence or proof of the Resurrection, but the subsequent behavior of the Apostles, the exponential growth of Christianity, and the estimated two billion followers of a poor carpenter turned itinerant preacher all provide compelling evidence.

And you can use the same argument to provide 'compelling evidence' for Islam and every other major religion.

Well, if professionals had built the "Ark," it would have actually existed.

If that's true -- and I don't think it is* -- but if that's true, God help us.

* We support Israel, and the Abrahamic Covenant is still in effect today.

You call that 'fair'?

I call it an appeal to ignorance.

Ever heard of a book called "The Acts of the Apostles"?

Only it doesn't work that way.

We're monotheists, and every other Heinz 57 religion can take a hike.

That's just it. We don't need to prove it in court.

But I don't think we need to argue. God will reveal himself, but it's not on this plane. As my friend who used to work in drug treatment used say, "More will be revealed.

Until the first elephant stepped aboard it, then it would have fallen apart like a popsicle stick house.

Here's the thing about arguments: you can't just make stuff confirming every religion, or many others, and go "Oh well I'm a monotheist!" because that isn't how they work. Arguments have implications.

If X argument proves your religion and Islam, then it's hardly supporting monotheism.

Yet the US has laws which means other religions are not only not required to take a hike, but people are legally prevented from enforcing such an action. Isn't freedom great?
