Which is why science continues to be agnostic. In demonstrating evolution to be factual, it hasn't proved there isn't a god. All science has done is demonstrate the means by which life on Earth diversified into many species. It might conflict with the Bible, depending on one's preferred means of interpretation, but it says nothing specific about the existence of a god.JohnR7 said:Science can be agnostic, but science can not be atheistic.
If Moses existed? The Bible is a very accurate history book and has been proven over and over again to be accurate in that regard. The Hebrew people had written language over 3500 years ago. Compared to the English that have only had written language for only about 1,000 year. You will find that the anglo-saxton chronicles are not as accurate as the Hebrew Bible is. We also have a lot of written records from Ninivah from around 3500 years ago, but you will not find nearly as many people to help you understand that, as you will find people willing to help you understand the Hebrew material from 3500 years ago. We have one account from a King of Ninivah, who talks about what he learned growing up. He learned math, he learned how to shoot the bow and arrow from horse back or charriot. He learned how to be a king. But what he enjoyed the most was to read the stories about the world before the flood.Kaonashi said:If he even existed that is.

I always wondered about that. The Egyptians kept rather good records, yet I have never seen any Egyptian source for a Jewish slave population anywhere. Do we actually have such records anywhere?Valkhorn said:I just did a bit of research, and very little if anything at all points to a plausible Moses - much less the possibility of Hebrew Slaves leaving Egypt in some sort of Exodus.
Your evidence there John?

USincognito said:The apologist line is that the Egyptians didn't record losses, only victories, so they wiped out any references to the Hebrews after that whole Red Sea boondoggle.
Indeed. And it then seems that the "excuse" rests squarely on a "just because I believe so" argument rather than any actual corroborating evidence.USincognito said:The apologist line is that the Egyptians didn't record losses, only victories, so they wiped out any references to the Hebrews after that whole Red Sea boondoggle.
The main issue I have with a huge slave population in Egypt during the Old Kingdom is that the monuments, mastabas and pyramids were public works projects meant to keep the farmers busy when they weren't tending crops. Why would they need a bunch of slaves to do work that served a social/public purpose.

OdwinOddball said:No, you have SAID this numerous times, yet you have never presnted any of this so called evidence.
So would you care to actually share this with the rest of the class, or are you just going to keep dodging the question?
OdwinOddball said:So how bout that evidence John? Got any yet?
