  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know if I can name a location here but I live near the "Gateway Arch". I'm hoping there are conservative Christians in my area reading this. I am so discouraged. I am 62 years old and ever since my children were young I have taught them that there is an alternative to Evolutionary Science. It has always been my hope to start an organization to promote "Creation Science" or "Intelligent Design" science. Now that I have retired I formed a non-profit organization called Advocates for Creation Science. I have sent out dozens of letters to churches and Christian organizations with very little response. I cannot believe the apathy I have found about this subject! Our children are being told we evolved from monkeys and nobody thinks that matters! God help us! I need people in my area who are ready, willing, and ready to fight this lie! The science of evolution is headed up by atheists and agnostics. Wake up Christians!

Good Point but I would think the smaller churches would take someone who not costing them any money.

Who have you sent mail to exactly? Have you announced it in your own church?

Agreed. I can't stand the apathy around this subject either, and have made efforts to stand up for the truth. I comfort myself with the knowledge that the truth will eventually be known by all.

What amazes me is that churches don't seem to do a lot of the things that God asks.

The Christian scriptures appeal hundreds of times for there to be social justice in the community and for people to stand up for justice. But none of the churches in my area seem to care a stuff about that either.

I with you all the way on this one. I think that our lives are so involved that many people just don't want to complicate it by getting too involved with something that will consume a lot of their time and energy. And still others are just CINO's (Christian In Name Only).

I agree that the topics of origin and species should be taught differently in biology classes. But I also think many Christians have handled this poorly.

It is more than an issue of one theory within biology. This is about world view, and it's a big issue to tackle. So how does this fit within the commission Jesus gave us? If his number one priority is to spread the gospel, how does the creation/evolution debate fit into that?

"Promote" as in fund research?

That has been a problem in some cases ... that "promoting" creationism has become more a political venture than a desire to air the truth. The same thing has happened amongst supporters of evolution, of course, and all that creates is a shouting match.

Step #1: Don't be afraid of the truth.

With that in mind, there are key aspects of biological research that those who align with creationism could promote.

I agree with you.
I think the problem is either the churches don't care, they are more busy with being one with the world than one with Christ or they hare afraid what will happen if they start talking about it from the pulpit.

There is good churches out there that is willing to preach the truth, but they seem to be harder to find and fewer as time goes by.
