  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is this serious? I honstly can't tell if it's a joke or not.

"This is also the first year that Muslim students from the Al-Jannah Islamic school have been invited to participate; two of their students presented a project on human anatomy entitled "Allah (SWT) Created Me" which, while it was found ineligible for a prize due to a number of Biblical inconsistencies, did win a special Interfaith Outreach ribbon."

If you can't get the link to work here's the winning "projects"

1st Place: "My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)"
2nd Place: "Pine Cones Are Complicated"

1st Place: "Life Doesn't Come From Non-Life" ([bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], it's hilarious how she did this!)
2nd Place: "Women Were Designed For Homemaking"

1st Place: "Using Prayer To Microevolve Latent Antibiotic Resistance In Bacteria"
2nd Place: "Maximal Packing Of Rodentia Kinds: A Feasibility Study"

I can't make laugh at them or point out why they're wrong because they're just kids... If this is what the next batch of creationists are gonna be like I might as well declare myself the winner and get it over with! Argh! going to hell now for picking on kids.

I’m going to vote that this is a real sight and that the Fellowship Baptist Creation Science Fair is a legitimate event.

At first I thought it was a joke and then I realized that there are people stupid enough (or at least willing to deceive themselves enough) to believe these things. Sad really.

And people wonder why the United States is faltering.

If that site (Objective Christian Ministries) wasn't specifically trying to shut down Landover Baptist (a very well-known parody site), I might be inclined to think it is real. But the fact that it is exactly the type of site Landover parodies, makes it too much of a coincidence for me to consider it legit.

From the site's 4 Kidz section:

"Atheists such as crotchety old Mr. Gruff think they've got it all figured out...

...but then why are they always so sad?

If you find an atheist in your neighborhood,
TELL A PARENT OR PASTOR RIGHT AWAY!

You may be moved to try and witness to these poor lost souls yourself, however
AVOID TALKING TO THEM!
Atheists are often very grumpy and bitter and will lash out at children or they may even try to trick you into neglecting God's Word.

Very advanced witnessing techniques are needed for these grouches. Let the adults handle them."

That sounds like parody to me, but, sometimes reality is even funnier.
