I am a creationist because the scriptures explicitly state not only that God created the earth, but that He made it fit for man in only six days. They say that He first formed the man and then made him alive. And they say that he created the first woman from a rib taken out of the first man.
Jesus said, if ye believe not Moses, how shall ye believe my words?
I am also a creationist because I am a scientist. I have examined the TOE in great detail and find it lacking on almost every front.
The scientific method is:
1 Examine the facts and develop a theory to explain the facts. Evolution indeed does this. But this is where evolution stops being scientific. because step 2 of the scientific method is:
2 Develop an experiment to test whether or not the theory is correct. Evolution is untested and untestable.
Here I need to note that evolutionists repeatedly claim to have tested certain portions of the theory, but the portions that have been so tested are so small as to be insignificant to the overall picture. They recently (from my perspective, for I am an old man) re-defined evolution from its old sense of all life forms coming from a common origin to a change in the distribution of alles in a population. But this is a farce. This new definition does not even require the development of a single new species to demonstrate that evolution has occurred. The excuse given for this is that the development of new species takes too long, but this is how they develop. But this is elliptical logic. It is proved by the fact that we know it is true. And how do we know it is true? because the only alternative is creation, which we know cannot be true. And how do we know it cannot be true? Because that would require a God, and we know that there is no God, so we know evolution is true.
We do not need to go into the rest of the scientific method, for evolution breaks down here. It is not science. It is a religious belief held by most of those who call themselves scientists.
Why do I call it a religious belief? Because it is a belief about God. The belief that He does not exist. I also call it that because it is held with all the fervor of a religious belief, including anger at those who disagree and a widespread attempt to silence debate on the subject.
No one gets angry at someone who does not believe Newton's laws. They just laugh at him. No one tries to silence those who do not believe the earth is round. They know that such are fools that are not worth the trouble. But deny evolution in the scientific world, and watch your back! They will come after you.
Evolutionists have repeatedly tried to get creationists fired. (I was personally forced to sign a paper recognizing that I had been warned that I would be fired if I shared my faith with anyone. But they cannot fire me now, for I am retired.) They sue in court to prevent creationists from presenting their views. And they have repeatedly called for boycotts against publishers that produce books questioning their theory. These are the behaviors of religious advocates, not scientists.
An excellent post by Biblewriter.
I'm afraid that evolution is conclusively, demonstrably false. You see, evolution is based upon an
impossible basic premise, either:
1) There is no God (atheism)
2) The Creator of the universe is irrational enough and immoral enough to create through evolution (theistic evolution)
Whenever you eliminate the basic premise of the argument, the rest of the argument falls as well. Hence, we can know, and know for a fact, that evolution is false and a complete, utter, and total lie.
Atheism is impossible as follows:
The universe is a gigantic computer program. Every cell in your body is a computer program. The sun, moon, planets, etc., are all computer programs - they
obey invisible laws that could not have "evolved" and must have been set in motion.
Even the most basic computer program
requires a computer programmer. This is quite testable. The universe, being itself a computer program, but gajillions of times more complex, also requires a computer programmer. And the name of that computer programmer is God.
Theistic evolution is impossible as follows:
The Creator of the universe is a
logical, rational being on a very high order and magnitude. If he were not, Einstein, Newton, etc., would never have been able to discover the things that they discovered. Evolution is an
irrational way to create. In point of fact, we can simply state that the Creator of the universe never would have created through theistic evolution simply because it's too irrational for him. Simply put, theistic evolution rampages all over "Occam's Razor" time and again - the simplest way for the Creator of the universe to create would be exactly as the Bible tells it. Thus, we can tell that evolution is not the Creator of the universe's handiwork, just as we can tell that a 2nd grade painting isn't a Michelangelo or a Leonardo.
In addition, the Creator of the universe is
too moral and good to create through a process such as evolution. If we believe that evolution happened, then we believe that the Creator of the universe deliberately subjected his wretched creation to hundreds of millions of years of death, pain, and suffering. Note that some will attempt to claim that there is death, pain, and suffering now - however,
it's not God's will that things ever be that way, and it's not how he originally created it. The god of theistic evolution originally created things this way in a
quite deliberate fashion. Only an evil god would do such a thing.
How do we know that the Creator of the universe is good? Because the universe is ordered on a magnitude so high that it is (in my opinion) incomprehensible. This equates to goodness, and goodness on a grand scale. One might object and claim that the human race is good since they also create order. However, the human race also has police, militaries, prisons, etc., which show that they are
predisposed to evil, not good. The universe's combination of order and logic proves that the Creator is a morally good being. And this Creator is too morally good to create a world deliberately through evolution.
Therefore, theistic evolution violates both the rational nature of God and the moral nature of God. As such, the basic premise of theistic evolution, like the basic premise of atheistic evolution, is destroyed, rendering the ensuing argument toothless and vain.
What then are we to make of the record of the rocks? There remains only one possibility, and that is that the Creator of the universe destroyed his creation (for their atrocious wickedness) in a
global flood. The subsequent record was
misinterpreted by those who had rejected the Creator's account of matters, and that was how evolution came into being. People evidently did not really believe that the Creator of the universe was powerful enough to send such a global flood or powerful enough to preserve life during this flood. Considering that we're talking about a being who created galaxies of billions of stars, black holes, matter, antimatter, gravity, etc., I would say that's
a pretty risky assumption. But that's what they've chosen to believe.
In short, the evidence in fact does not prove evolution - rather, it proves that it is impossible because evolution has an
impossible basic premise. Any argument that has an impossible basic premise is a fallacious argument. It does not matter how evolutionists philosophically writhe or twist, their basic premise is still impossible. And that is why evolution is false.
I think you've underestimated a global flood.
