  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I believe that creation is a light action, though not neccisarily good or evil. For example, I cite the creation of the knife. The knife we use to spread our butter on our bread can be used for murder.

I believe that destruction is a dark action, though not neccisarily good or evil. For example, I cite the destruction of a weapon. It can harm none if it has been destroyed...but it can protect none as well.

You see...I view light & dark as seperate from good & evil.

A person who performs primarily light actions can still be evil.
A person who performs primarily dark actions can still be good.

Which is more evil and why?

After voting, compare and contrast to this poll.

After the creation event, God saw that everything was good. (Genesis) In terms of Jesus christ, there is NOTHING evil about the Creation and certainly nothing evil about God destroying what He created.

Who says creation has to infinite. Typically, things thathave a begining tend to have an end as well.

Creation doesn't have to be infinite; however, I see an infinite list of possibilites that spring from it - just my view.

Yes, typically things that have a beginning tend to have an end - but that end does not neccesarily signal of the end of all the possibilities that the thing started in the first place.

I can kind of see where you're coming from, even though I'm lost as to how a creation action could be described as evil. I agree with you that a destruction action could be considered good or evil depending on the circumstances.

An interesting thing to consider is that creation and destruction are often enterwined. A farmer has to reap before he/she can sow. A lava flow simultaneously destroys old earth while creating new earth. The sun, which allows Earth to have life will ultimately destroy that life. A lit candle creates light and heat while simultaneosly destroying the wax candle. Every heterotroph has to destroy something else in order to continue its own life, etc. I think you get the point.
