***I have another thread called Creation Fest in the Praise and Worship forum, however I think it will get more replies in this forum. I could not figure out how to delete or move the already existing thread, so I just named this one "Creation Fest (NEW)". ***
Before I start, I just want to say that I DO understand that this is a lot to read, but It took me a VERY long time to write so please give it a chance.

This thread is about a Christian rock festival known as Creation Fest. It is 4 days of awesome rock concerts that incorporates the fun of camping. I went for the first time this year and it was THE best time of my life (lol a lot of people think that is an exaggeration but its not...trust me). I wanted to make a thread about it. This thread is for people who have gone to Creation to share your experiences of it. Or if you have never been to it or heard of it, if you think it is a good idea. Or if you like any of the bands or speakers that are there. Anything along those lines really. My hope is to keep this going until Next Creation (June and July of 2010)
Now this is a thread I wrote originally on another forum that was not a Christian forum. There was a rule about no religious talk. However I can edit those things out now . However I would still like it if you follow these rules thanks .
1. Be Respectful in your comments.
2. Follow the Forum Rules
4. No debates please
(there were A LOT more regarding religious talk but I edited them out because this whole site if about religion rofl)
Again please follow those simple rules. Comment on if you have been to Creation, If you like the idea of Creation, If you like or dislike any of the bands/speakers, or if you have any questions regarding it.

This page is just to keep everyone updated on Creation 2010. You PROBABLY won't see anything on this page until around February (give or take) because Creation 2009 has just ended and nothing regarding Creation 2010 will be announced any time soon.
Things I will post here are:
- Ticket info for Creation 2010
- Band/Speaker Listings for Creation 2010
- Count Down till Creation NE 2010
- Count Down till Creation NW 2010
Questions/Comments are still appreciated.

About Creation Fest:
Creation Fest is a Christian rock festival that has VERY famous/popular bands and speakers that go. Usually around 75,000-100,000 people go to Creation Fest every year. It is 4 awesome days of non-stop music. Creation incorporates the fun of camping along with it as well to only add to the fun!!!(with showers and port-a-potties
). You go up to the festival with all your camping gear and go to your assigned camp spot. After your camp is set up, you can go down to either of the stages to see your favorite bands and/or speakers perform.
There are two Creation Festivals in America. One is in Mount Union, Pennsylvania. That is referred to as Creation Northeast (NE). The other is in George, Washington. That is referred to as Creation Northwest (NW). Both are in beautiful locations. Creation NE is usually in June and Creation NW is usually in July.
Now Creation is 4 days long, all of which are full of concerts. Most people will go one day early to set up and leave one day later. So you will be gone for 6 days. HOWEVER, you are able to get a day ticket, which is pretty much a ticket good for only one day there. More info on that is on Page 4.
They do have stuff to do there other then concerts. I will list all the stuff other then concerts that go on there... all that I can think of anyway lol:
- Mini Skate Park with mini x-games (INCREDIBLY Mini lol)
- Beautiful trails to hike
- Baptisms
- Guitar Store (only sells Paul Reed Smith (PRS) guitars though)
- Music Store (sells clothing and Christian CDs)
- Fair Food (gotta try the Frozen Cheesecake On A Stick...sounds gross, but in fact, a gift from God )
- Balloon Slides (costs like 10 bucks to go on it though =/)
- Bungee Ride
- Merch Tents (A bunch of stuff they sell...they have AMAZING stuff...they have bracelets made from bass guitar srings!!!)
- Prize Give Aways
(If I think of more, I will post it lol)
There are two stages at Creation. One is the Main Stage and the other is the Fringe Stage. The Main Stage has all your really popular or famous bands and speakers. They are the bands that most people go to see. The Fringe Stage usually has the bands that are less heard of; usually newer bands that are just starting out play on that stage. A lot of the bands at creation were made famous because of starting out on the Fringe.
Also there is a place where you can meet with the band members afterwards and get autographs and such.
If you are a youth leader, you actually get to go to a speech given by some of the bands. Afterwards you can talk with them too!...but you have to be a youth leader
NOTE!!! – At Creation NORTHEAST, you do not get any cell phone reception at all EXCEPT for Verizon. If you have any other service other then Verizon, you will NOT get cell phone reception. There is however one spot where you do get it (which is one of the hiking trails) but it takes a really long time to get there plus it is a very hard hike. So I suggest you buy a Verizon Go Phone just for Creation. They are only like 20 bucks. And remember this is only for Creation NE. IDK about Creation NW.
Stuff You Need To Bring:
Unless you have a lot of money, you need to bring lots of food. They do have a little market to buy food but it is all overpriced. They also have venders there that sell food (like fair or carnival food). So I suggest you bring food to save money. Also bring LOTS of money because you will need to buy ice to keep your food fresh. And there is LOTS of stuff that you can buy, some of which are very cool and unique.
Here is all the other stuff you need:
Tents/Campers
Sleeping Bags
Hoodies/Sweatshirts
LOTS of T-Shirts and shorts
Toothbrush/Toothpaste/Mouthwash
Flip-Flops/Sandals
Soap/Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash
MONEY
5-Gallon Water Jugs
If you have food that needs cooking, then something to cook your food with. (A Small Webber Grill)
Anything else you would normally bring camping

These are from the rates of the past year. When tickets go on sale again, I will edit this and tell you guys the updated ticket prices. However the tickets usually stay around the same price so I will give you guys this for an idea of how much it is.
Creation NE:
Pre-Ordered tickets for the full 5 days; Adults (Ages 12 and up): $87-$100
Tickets at the gate for the full 5 days; Adults: $110-120
Pre-Ordered tickets for the full 5 days; Youth (Ages 6-11): $45-$55
Tickets at the gate for the full 5 days; Youth: $55-$65
Pre-Ordered Day Tickets (only good for one day at Creation); Everyone: $40-$45
Day Tickets at the gate; Everyone: $45-$50
Hot Shower Passes are an extra $10-$20 on all tickets
Creation NW:
Pre-Ordered tickets for the full 5 days; Adults (Ages 12 and up): $100-$120
Tickets at the gate for the full 5 days; Adults: $140-$150
Pre-Ordered tickets for the full 5 days; Youth (Ages 6-11): $58-$68
Tickets at the gate for the full 5 days; Youth: $80-$100
Pre-Ordered Day Tickets (only good for one day at Creation); Everyone: $40-$45
Day Tickets at the gate; Everyone: $45-$50
Hot Shower Passes are an extra $10-$20 on all tickets
For both Creations, you get the tickets for a cheaper price if you go in groups of 20 or more. The price is usually only around $10-$20 cheaper. Also for both Creations, kids under the age of 6 get in for free.
Tickets usually go on sale around January or February. When tickets go on sale again, I will update this, informing you guys on the new prices. I do understand that it is 6 months away but if you really want to go, then you should start planning it now (especially if you never went before). Also note that, starting from when tickets go on sale, the tickets go up a little in price every month from then on.
Also, for the hot showers, you really do not need them. The water is not THAT cold lol. And if you get a shower really early in the morning (around 7 or 8 AM), you MIGHT still get a WARM shower lol. But if you by a shower pass, you are guaranteed a hot shower. I personally think that is a waste of money but hey, that is just my opinion lol.
By the way, these are AMAZING prices. Most rock festivals are around double the price. There is one (I forget the name of lol) that is a rap music festival, and the tickets are around $2,000!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every Creation, the band lineup is SLIGHTLY different. But here are the "regulars" that go USUALLY every year. I will update the lineup for Creation 2010 when it comes out. The First 6 bands are the most popular and usually have the biggest crowd. The others are still really big/popular bands but not AS big as the first 5.
Bands:
- Skillet
- Switchfoot
- Flyleaf
- Hawk Nelson
- Relient K
- Casting Crowns
- Remedy Drive
- Family Force 5
- Pillar
- Kutless
- Thousand Foot Krutch
- Red
- Fee
- Disciple
- Chris Tomlin
- David Crowder Band
- Above the Golden State
- Toby Mac
- Stellar Kart
- The Sonflowerz
- BarlowGirl
- Newsboys
- Hillsong
- B. Reith
Those are just a few of the bands. There are around 75+ bands that are there. And like I said, there are very few bands that are not famous. They are all very popular bands. Also remember that some of these bands MIGHT not be there next year. When the band lineup comes out for Creation 2010, I will update the list and name ALL the bands that are going to be there. That won't be for a while though.
Speakers:
- Joyce Meyer (I think she is on the 700 Club)
- Reggie Dabbs (THE best speaker there, my opinion lol )
- Pastor Harry Thomas (the "host" of Creation Fest)
- Bob Lenz
- Preston Centuolo
- Brett Ulman
- Margaret Feinberg
Again those are just a few of the speakers that are there.
There is also stuff for the kids:
- The Donut Man
- Forgotten Friend Reptile Rescue
- The Bigsby Show
- Steven Country Band
- Phredd
- The Kids Cookie Break
- Ryan and Friends
In case you never heard of the bands, here is some info on some of the bands:
Hawk Nelson did some of the songs in the movie, "Yours, Mine, and Ours". There most famous song is probably, "Bring 'Em Out", which is on a lot of commercials for "NBC Sunday Night Football".
Switchfoot did some of the songs in the "Chronicles of Narnia" movies and "A Walk to Remember". There most famous song is "Meant to Live", which also appears on "Buzz Cuts", an alternative rock CD with some of the most famous bands of the 90s.
Flyleaf did A LOT of the songs in the movie "Twilight". Their most famous song is probably "I'm So Sick". They, in my opinion, are the Paramore of Christian rock.
Casting Crowns wrote probably the most famous WORSHIP songs in modern music including "I Can Only Imagine", "If We Are The Body", "Voice of Truth", and "Lifesong".
Chris Tomlin also wrote some of the most famous modern WORSHIP music today including "God of Wonders", "Shout to the Lord", and "We Fall Down".
Relient K is often not even known to be a Christian band and is famous for there song, "Sadie Hawkins Dance" and doing covers of "The Office Theme", "$5 Footlong", and "Fraggle Rock Theme Song".

Now, I believe that EVERYONE should at least have to chance to go to Creation. Now I am lucky because I only live 3 hours away from Creation NE by car. However, some people are not as lucky. So I am here to help by giving some ways you can get to Creation.
Now I suggest you go to your local church or youth group and set something up with the pastor. It is a lot easier that way. Find out how many people in your church or youth group are going and find out how much money you will need for the tickets. Now if you live too far away to drive (I would say if the drive is longer then 10 hours) then find out how much plane tickets would cost and how many you would need. (Remember you also need plane tickets to come back!! Wouldn’t that just ruin the day if you forgot the tickets to come home??? lol) Just add up the total price. Now ask if anyone in the group can afford their own plane/Creation ticket. If they can, subtract that from the total price.
Now that you know how much money you will need, have some sort of fundraiser to raise enough money. Go to your local church and have a bake sale, a car wash, a fun fair or something of that nature. Now you can obviously just go with some friends to Creation, but It will end up being a little cheaper and A LOT more easier if you go with a church or youth group.
Once you have enough money, then you can buy your tickets to the best time of your life!!! (wow that is a REALLY good slogan lol)
I know it may seem like a lot of work but please believe me that it is AMAZING! It is a great experience. A lot of people think I am exaggerating with this next comment but it was the best time of my life. Whether you believe it or not, it is true I am not exaggerating lol. I think that everyone should get the chance to go. So please set something up to try to make it out here to Pennsylvania or out in Washington. It is amazing.
