In what way does evolution falsify creationism? It has been said that evolution is mostly biology. It is not biology that falsifies the YEC beliefs, it is more geology than anything else, that gives us evidence for a old earth and not a young earth.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is the young age of the Earth that falsifies cosmic evolution which says the world is billions of years old.

Thus, in order to communicate with them, either you have to go through some lengthy argument about how different theories actually do have different names, or use their terminology.
Still, I've never heard any professor or scientist ever say that evolution falsifies creationism.

The age of the earth, as put forth by creationists, isn't based on science and therefore cannot scientifically falsify anything. As for this "cosmic evolution" you speak of, evolution has no relevance to cosmology which makes "cosmic evolution" an oxymoron.serventofthelord said:

Evolution is a word that means a gradual process of change. You can say cultures evolve, for example. This can be called "cultural evolution" It doesn't just mean the Theory of Evolution, which deals with biology.Event Horizon said:

In any case, elements of the Theory of Evolution, such as twin nested heirachies and common ancestory are incompatable with YEC.
Young Earth Creationism crosses a very broad number of sciences almost all of them contradict it. It denies biology, geology, physics and astronomy to name a few.
And I think serventofthelord is being a very good, albeit confusing, example of Poe's law.

It really comes down to what testable predictions that the brand of creationism makes.
Actually, evolution can falsify a young earth, or at least one with a recent genetic bottleneck due to a Global Flood. There is simply too much genetic diversity, and differences in genetic diversity between species, for a recent Global Flood. Evidence from geology and astronomy also falsify a young earth and in a much more straightforward sense. Not only is the earth old but not all lifeforms are present at the beginning.

There is a lot more to creationism than simply the age of the Earth. Evolution also deals with how humans evolved. While both creationism and evolution agree that all humanity has a common origin the two have distinct differences when it comes to evolution's claim that all living creatures have a common ancestry.
