  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dr. Martin’s book, The Evolution of a Creationist, is available from Biblical Discipleship Publishers, Rockwell, TX (www.biblicaldiscipleship.org; 972-771-0568). In great detail, and in an easy, readable style, it exposes the theory of evolution as a combination of untestable assumptions, logical fallacies, special pleading, wishful thinking, and outright fraud. At the same time, it clearly states the Biblical basis for young earth creationism.
i won't get the book right now, but i'll look for it to borrow.

Creation According to the Scriptures
Edited by P. Andrew Sandlin. Subtitled A Presuppositional Defense of Literal Six-Day Creation, this symposium by thirteen authors is a direct frontal assault on all waffling views of Biblical creation. It explodes the .Framework Hypothesis," so dear to the hearts of many respectability-hungry Calvinists, and it throws down the gauntlet to all who believe they can maintain a consistent view of Biblical infallibility while abandoning literal,six-day creation. It is a must reading for all who are observing closely the gradual defection of many allegedly conservative churches and denominations, or who simply want a greater grasp of an orthodox, God-honoring view of the Bible.
this one i will get now, however.

Well, that web-site you listed about sums it up as succinctly as anything I've ever read before. He's telling it as well as I've ever heard anyone do it. I must admit I'm rather surprised, pleasantly mind you, that you posted this. This at least tells me that you've got an open mind and that is all anyone could ever ask.

Thanks!

Maybe I should go back and modify my last post in the Yecch thread. ;)

i agree with you, that it is an extraordinarily well done short summation of the issues. plus the 2nd book looks very good. although sandlin is causing some waves in the reformed community.
