My experience with creatine over the years is that it increases the number of reps and weight I can lift per set before muscle failure. I have noticed no bad side effects, though I only take about a tsp. each day.

As has been mentioned, the only problems I can see with creatine would be dose related - taking too much - or with possible contamination with other chemicals.

The two sites I've listed below seem to have good information on creatine. Even though the second one is a commercial site, it still has a lot of free info on creatine, in the FAQ section especially.

An alternate to creatine use it celery/apple juice combo. It has a perfect sodium/potassium ratio which relieves muscle soreness and fatigue. Not to mention the living enzymes you derive from this combo, celery and its juice replenishes electrolytes lost during work outs. Celery is the main food that the gorilla eats and a gorilla has enough strength to bench press 4000lbs. The malic acid found in the the apple juice dissolves liver stones, thus making the liver healthier. When you have a healtheir liver and digestive system, you assimilate more nutrition, protein, etc. Which means you dont need to supplement with anything.

If anyone else wants some natural tips to building strength and muscle then feel free the message me.

Jed

Correlating a gorilla's immense strength to a diet rich in celery is quite silly. A gorilla's superior strength to humans is derived entirely from their genetics. Humans are very physically weak animals compared to the majority of the animal kingdom.

The point wasnt that we could become that strong but that they have that amount of strength while eating something as simple as celery. You are far better off building with the foods God made, not those that a man creates and modifies in a lab.

lol ok dont take vitamins anymore, dont take medicine, dont get immunized to diseases. gj einstein

I do not take medicines or vitamins and hardly ever have. Who needs to be immunized when God is the one who is watches over you and your body? I view such things as crutches and I desire God to be my only crutch.

Do as you wish, but if you would like more creatine in your diet in its natural form increase your intake of fish.

Precautions

Because of the potential for side effects and interactions with medications, dietary supplements should be taken only under the supervision of a knowledgeable healthcare provider.

Side effects of creatine include weight gain, muscle cramps, muscle strains and pulls, stomach upset, diarrhea, dizziness, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction, and kidney damage. The weight gain is thought to be due primarily to water retention. Creatine should not be used by anyone who already has problems kidney function, high blood pressure, or liver disease. Taking creatine supplements may prevent the body from making it's own natural stores. The long-term consequences of this are not known.

A 2001 report by the Food Safety Agency of France (AFSSA) raised questions about creatine supplements possibly putting users at greater risk for cancer, particularly if such supplements are taken for long periods of time. However, the European Commission and the Council for Responsible Nutrition in the United States both determined that AFSSA's claims are unsubstantiated and not based on any scientific evidence of a connection between creatine and cancer. All three organizations do agree, though, that risks of long-term use of creatine are not known at this time.

Creatine supplements containing contaminants from the production process have been reported. Be sure to buy products made by established companies with good reputations, and who distribute their products through trustworthy and knowledgeable establishment

www.bodybuilding.com is a good source if you want to learn about creatine. I have a question: Are you currently using protein products during the day, particularly after your workouts? If not, those would be very helpful to help repair your muscles after a strenous workout. I'm going to start back taking creatine after a two year hiatus, so I'll have to do the loading phase. All that is basically doing is saturating your muscles with creatine for the first few days; from there, it's a regular routine. If you have any questions, ask away. Good luck in your workouts and God bless.

Jerry
