And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 1:27
Did you ever think there was something about yourself that you weren't happy with? That you wish was different? We all have something about ourselves that bothers us at times, be it appearance, personality, talents, etc.
But, shouldn't we be thankful for God's creation? He created us in His image. Some people are not happy with His image. They insult it or want to change it. We must learn that God created us the way we are, and that He had a reason for every virtue and every fault.
Of course, there are things that we should want to change about ourselves, such as wanting to improve our faith and relationship with God. But as Christians, when we do desire to change something, we should consider if it will affect our spiritual growth.
Now, it isn't easy to avoid feeling bad about yourself-I struggle with this too. A good way to avoid this may be, when you do start feeling bad about yourself, think about how you are God's creation and image-a temple of the Lord.
Even if you may not understand God's reasons, know they are always good reasons. He wanted to create you, and He gave you a purpose. Instead of focusing on feeling we are not good enough in some way, shouldn't we strive to serve our Creator, using our virtues in His service? Remember, He loves you more than you can imagine-no matter who you are.
God bless!
The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.
