I have been looking for sites out there that you can create your own forum for free. I looked at ezboard but you have to pay for it. Does anyone know of any free sites where you can create forums?

Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

I went with Invasion board but how do I upload it? And what kinds of sites are the best to upload it to?

I dunno how spaceports will work...I've tried them before and it wasn't too great .
If you don't need too much, I have some extra hosting you could use if the spaceports thing doesn't work out. PM me if interested.
Also, I think invision board is a good choice! It's my first forum choice (besides the expensive vbulletin lol)

Yeah Spaceports isn't working at all. I've been trying to find some free hosts to use, but I can't find any.

There is also Ikonboard. I used to use it and it seemed to work fine.
The problem with free sites is that most of them will not allow alot of the programs that use alot of resources such as forum software. And then you have to deal with their ads and pop-ups and all of that.

I think I'll go with Invasion Board. It's cheap too.

Basic account is free, and probably what you want.
With the advanced account, you are paying for priority support, and maybe installation. You probably don't need that.
Also, Ikonboard is made by the same guy as invisionboard. He made invison board after the company that he worked on ikonboard for made it not free anymore. So it's very similar, and takes up less resources.

Okay I have it downloaded, but now what? It's just all sitting in my computer. I have to find a PHP host and upload it so I can start creating a forum, but that costs money at Invasion Board doesn't it?

First you need a site that supports a mySQL databse and PHP. You can get a decent webhost for $10 a year that does that. www.discount-hosting.com (you get a free month too).
