  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Cravings, anyone?

I've been craving unhealthy things. Chips, as some have mentioned (although DH makes our chips with extra virgin olive oil, so they're not as heavy as they are at the chip shop). Hot dogs, with mustard, tomato sauce and cheese. And most of all (as in, sometimes I can't go to bed until I've had one), corned beef and tomato sandwiches.

With Isabel it was every day for a good two or three months, porridge, cold spaghetti (from a can) on toast, and pea and ham soup. Not a pretty combination for someone who was sick 3-5 times a day :)

Luckily, I'm not as sick with this one, so I'm actually keeping down most of my food.

Sorry, mmmm craving them again now. It's only 11am though, all the chippys will be shut. I think I'll have to resist this craving otherwise I'll be the size of a airbus by the time the baby's born.

I had weird, weird cravings yesterday....so I went and got my snack - port wine cheese & crackers, chips and Dean's french onion dip, Fritos & bean dip, pickles and greek black olives. My hubby was totally grossed out, but it was sooooo good!!

Lately I have been craving oranges. I am not one that normally likes oranges so it's kind of weird. I have been getting skin rashes though since I have been eating a lot of oranges and it just dawned on me today that that might be the reason! You never know!

I have been off eggs for nearly this whole pregnancy, then about a week ago I suddenly started craving boiled eggs and soldiers. Now I have been forcing them on my family nearly every day, I'm sure they're sick of them by now :)

Yay for being able to eat eggs again!

I craved chicken fried steak with my son (third child) - but never had any cravings with the first two (daughters) ... I missed my monthly 1st of Feb - and have had pregnancy symptoms ... waiting to see if I miss a second before taking another test ... but, I have had strong cravings unlike ever before - chicken one day - salty foods the next - orange juice (GOT TO HAVE). I read an article yesterday that said cravings are our bodies way of supplying the nutrients we may be short on - as long as we don't go biserk with them, we should pay attention to what our body is telling us. I found that interesting. ;)

I've heard this too, but I've also heard that it's a myth, and that it has more to do with our hormones doing odd things to our bodies rather than actually craving what we need. With this pregnancy I would believe that, because I have been craving really unhealthy high sugar, high fat foods that I shouldn't each much of normally, let alone during pregnancy. I have been trying to fight the cravings, though, and only have these things sometimes. And I've gone off a lot of healthy things that I really should be eating. I suppose it's just one of those things that there are a gazillion different theories on :)

God Bless.

Yes, my craving this week has been Fruit Loops. I don't know what nutrient it could possibly have that I need. ;)
