  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Towards the end of my first trimester I really craved chili cheese fries and tater tots and just salty things in general. During my second I trimester I craved loaded baked potatoes with black olives and my taste for sweets came back so I craved chocolate a lot. Now during my third I've had this odd craving for honey mustard, that's really been the weirdest thing I've craved. One day I wanted it so bad I put it on chili's chicken quesadillas lol.

One craving I've had through out this whole pregnancy has been chili's chips, salsa, and ranch dressing.

I've had this crazy desire to sit down and eat a whole gift basket of those little summer sausages and cheddar cheese logs and crackers. You know, those annoying Hillshire Farms things people give each other for Christmas when they don't know what else to buy and no one ever really eats?

It's so weird.

Lately Ive been wanting fried chicken, but only from this local resturant here.. its the only fried chicken i'll eat besides KFC..

KFC.. mmmm.. coleslaw <3

and also fried potatoes, not french fries.. well thye are french fries but not the regular string kind.. they are real potatoes cut in circles.. and fried, they are the best!

Also, after halloween has passed and all the candy has been around, Ive been eating tons of chocolate... I didn't like any of that in my first trimester, sweets made me wanna barf lol. But usually, I can eat anything in sight.. unless its MEAT..

THeres something about meat that just makes me sick..

Fish is good though.

Todays cravings were chicken breast strips fried up in garlic and onions (which is funny cuz I couldn't even smell garlic with my first!) :p and...

MASHED POTATOES! I was laughing at myself because I was seriously worshipping God for letting there still be potatoes in my fridge so I could make mashed potatoes for dinner! You know, it cured my nausea and I felt great!:yum:

Now I'm craving a big italian white bun with nothing on it. And I'm eating it, look at that! Good thing I just went grocery shopping!;)

 Have you guys ever taken a special trip to satisfy a craving?

Let's see.. at first I'd crave alot of meat but I think that was because I was coming off my vegetarian kick. Pulled BBQ especially~ Hmm then I think it was cold mandarin oranges. Lately it's been mostly sugar. Cotton candy, coke Icee's, Little Debbie spice caaaakes.. Ice.
My brother is freaked that I've started having a cup full of mostly crushed ice and then put milk in. Nummies~ Munch on it all day long~ ^_^ Oh and teriyaki chicken and rice from my favorite local Japanese restaurant. :yum: I'd go half an hour out of my way for it every day if I could~

*rereads her post* And I wonder why I've already gained 40 lbs..

becareful with the fist though as many kinds of fish contain mercury

Yeah I read up on that.. I thnk its tuna that has alot of mercury in it.. I have eaten tuna though.. Ive made tuna salad several times, but not EVERYDAY.. i think that's when it can be harmful.

Have you guys also heard that some deli meats are bad?

Yeah, I think the deli meat thing is because of risk of listeria. I should look it up again. Anyone know for sure?
I've also heard the same thing about tuna.
I always love when I'm done breastfeeding and I can go back to eating whatever I want! Oh wait, then the weight loss starts... lol. Oh well!

Yes deli meat is not safe unless you heat it up. There are actually a while list of fish to avoid not just tuna, some fish are higher in mercury than others so you might want to check that out before you eat fish. I think tuna is safe as long as you do not eat it frequently.

here is a bit of an artical I found at the March of dimes website The rest can be read at the link.

Use common sense when preparing and selecting foods. Avoid the following:
  • Swordfish, shark, king mackerel and tile fish. These fish can contain potentially risky levels of mercury. Mercury can be transferred to the growing fetus and cause serious health problems. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a pregnant woman can safely eat up to 12 ounces (two average meals) a week of a variety of fish and shellfish that are low in mercury. These include shrimp, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock and catfish. But you should eat no more than 6 ounces of canned albacore (white) tuna per week. Canned white tuna has more mercury than canned light tuna. For the same reason, eat no more than 6 ounces of tuna steak per week. Also avoid game fish until you check its safety with your local health department. (A game fish is any fish caught for sport, such as trout, salmon or bass.)
  • Raw fish, especially shellfish (oysters, clams)
  • Undercooked meat, poultry and seafood. Cook all of them thoroughly to kill bacteria.
