  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

“Spiritual fitness can be enhanced by repetition, not by rhetoric; by practice, not by preaching.” ANONYMOUS

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone.’”
LUKE 4:1-4 NIV

Jesus quoted the book of Deuteronomy 8:3 when He said, “man does not live by bread alone,” the rest of the Scripture is, “but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”
I like crackers and cheese. It is one of my weaknesses. Somewhere between 8 and 10 PM each evening I hear the cheese singing in the refrigerator, and the crackers in the pantry join in and are in perfect harmony. The cheese slicer hanging on the wall even joins in the chorus. The paper plates fill in the four-part harmony with the bass section singing, “no mess.” I am persuaded and allow them to make music in my stomach. When the concert is over, I am really no better off. Nothing has been fulfilled that will give a lasting affect. The food that gives true inner strength and joy does not come from the table. It comes from the Word, prayer, fellowship with brothers and sisters, and times of sharing. You see, to keep something of a spiritual essence it must be shared. Otherwise it becomes stale. By sharing the Truth, we reinforce what is already there, when we speak we also hear what we ourselves say. It is like a fountain that puts oxygen into the water and keeps it fresh. I am grateful for others who share on a regular basis with me, and I am blessed to be able to share also. Today God is doing for me what I could not do for myself…..JRE

I must remember that in spiritual matters I am only an instrument. It is not mine to decide how or when I am to act. God plans all spiritual matters. It is up to me to make myself fit to do God’s work. All that hinders my spiritual activity must be eliminated. I can depend on God for all the strength I need to overcome those faults that are blocks. I must keep myself fit, so that God can use me as a channel for His spirit.
