  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I posed this question on another site, and two people said that instead of giving CPR, they would pray for the individual's soul.

That's great. If their beliefs are right then I'll have more company in hell. Me obviously for my unbelief and them for not making the criteria of Luke 10: 25-37

If you came across a known homosexual that was unconcious, would you try CPR or call 911?

Having been a paramedic for several years, assuming I was by myself, I'd call 911 and then do CPR. If there were somebody else there, I'd tell him to breathe while I did compressions and maybe thrown in a good precordial thump or two.

It's nice that no one seriously said: "Eww, I wouldn't want to get all their gay AIDSlings on me! Them not breathing is their own fault... at least they won't molest any more children now."

I'm often reminded how generally nice this forum is. Even the most angry of posters on CF only come off as shrill and neurotic rather then foaming and dangerous like some I've met online.

(And to be clear, it is my opinion that most of the people who I disagree with most on the Forum seem to be nice folks... just with different ideas about morality and science to me.)

To be honest, I'd be a bit hesitant to give mouth to mouth to anybody I just randomly came up to on the street, regardless of their sexuality or whatever. Their sexual orientation wouldn't matter, though. With universal precautions you always assume the person has HIV, HepC, etc. and go from there. Now, if I had a pocket mask it'd be another story. Fortunately, I work at a hospital so if something happened at work I'd have an ambu-bag readily available :)

But you do have to be careful around those homosexuals...the gay could rub off on you!
