  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I say that God put you under the authority of the Bible college and you need to obey. Romans 13:1

You're wrong. Romans 13:1 is about legal authority. It is not about rules that a dumb school has. You should be more careful about whose opinions and rules you count as the will of God.

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." makes it very clear, so does
"Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation." and
"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you."

"Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God."

Last I checked, a private college isn't a governing authority...
Especially not if they're promoting Pharisaic ideas.

No. The OP has a business arrangement with the school. The school does not have power over him.

Exactly, now I agree that if he continues going to that college then he should submit himself to their rules because that is a condition of the business relationship.

However my feeling is that this "bible college" is heretical and teaching legalistic heresies and that remaining at the bible college is a sin.

I say that God put you under the authority of the Bible college and you need to obey. Romans 13:1

First of all Romans 13:1 is about governing authorities.

Secondly, even if it isn't, you arn't to obey whatever authorities if they demand that you sin against God. Since I've already established that this bible college is heretical, (And we are not to listen to the religious teaching of heretics) then remaining at this bible college would be a sin in the first place.

So even in that case, the only non sinful thing to do is to leave the bible college and repent for listening to heretics.
