i used to play untill STEAM was invented.....i hate STEAM....

i would play but i have already registered my version then i had to reformat and i lost a file that had paswords and stuff in it....then tryed to re-register my cd key and it failed....also steam costomer servies sucks

LOVED CS.... well hated it until I got used to it and people stopped calling me a n00b

But I also dumped it when it went 100% steam.

In short, Steam SUCKS!

Shame, was a good game, but high time it died. It's old now and something better needs to take the spot light.

Loving the UT2004 demo at present.

I did do a quick scan of the servers I used to play CS on the other day... ALL empty. I think Steam has killed it for many people.

what do you guys have against steam?

I think its great. unless you lost your cd key, and have to get a cd maker, then you dont save your old key, and you update, and it has a bunch of security stuff, and you need your old cd-key, and you dont have it because you didn't think it was necesary to keep them saved....

Lol all of the above and more. It just seems "cluncky". It's one of those peices of software you run, and kind of expect it to crash at every given moment.

My biggest issues with it are:
1) Automatic Updates (No Steam.. let me CHOOSE when I update)
2) Net Access for LAN gaming (So I want to Lan, but noooooo, gotta log on and authenitcate, and then wait for all the updates to download for Steam, then Run my game, and let THAT update as well.... oh but no wait... I have to do that for BOTH machines on my LAN, yeah thanks for that, I wanted to play 1on1 for 30 minutes but I dont have 3 hours LOL)

blah blah blah.... but I'm not bitter
