Could you participate in a reality TV show?

I was thinking that it would be kinda cool to be on some of the reality shows, like the Amazing Race. But then I thought that there was no way that I could put my life on hold for the month (or however long) I would have to be gone. I could do it, I guess. I'm a SAHM so I guess I could get grandma to come stay and take care of the kids, but I think my kids are too young (2 & 4) to leave for that long. There is no way DH could leave his job for that long. Anyway, I was just curious as to how many of you had lives that would allow you to be gone for that length of time. Just curious.

The time issue is not what really would stop me from being on one of these shows, although I would find it difficult to leave my kids for that long. My issue would be more that I cannot be cut-throat as many of them are, and would be so unhappy in a situation where I could trust no-one, had to lie, cheat or backstab to remain, and where money became the most important motivator. Just doesn't sound like fun to me! As for the shows where they plave themselves in danger for the thrill, that's just plain silly in my book. Very few things in life are worth it to me to put myself at risk, in fact, only two I can think of, God first, and my family.

I couldn't be cut-throat either that's why I'd have to do something where I didn't have any part in who was eliminated. I would do something like the Amazing Race just for the adventure of it. If I happened to win, it would just be icing on the cake.

I'd definitely join. I've been trying to get on Survivor simply because it thrills me. I'm always interested in doing something I haven't done before and Survivor would be a good choice. Fear Factor would just be so-so, since eating bugs and slimey things don't faze me at all. And as for Amazing Race... I'm not into it that much.

I would never ever join a reality dating game, that's for sure.

At this point in my life there is NO WAY i would be able to participate. I have a troublemaking 16 yr old son that needs me at home. I have an 11 mos old baby who needs me at home ( i still breastfeed him even!) Not to mention the fact that i am overweight and out of shape. The Biggest Loser would probably be the show i would fit best on!! LOL. I would NEVER in a million years go on FEAR FACTOR..there is no way i could eat some of that nasty stuff or have rats or scorpions crawl all over me..no way!! i would most like to be on Survivor because its my favorite show. I would also love to be on Amazing Race or Big Brother or even the MOLE.

Ok everyone, my original intent of the post was just to find out how many people have a life they could leave for a month. Forget about the reality TV aspect of it. I just used that because that's what got me thinking of it. So back to the original question - How many of you have a life that you could leave for a month?

i wouldn't do survivor or anything.. you know what they should bring back though (and this is the only one that i would have participated in) was The Mole. That one was awesome. They got to go all over the world and stay in nice places and eat really good food. oh yay! that sounds oh so great! :)

::edit:: and to answer your original question, no i don't really, especially while in school. During the summer... maybe... but i do need money and ya can't say for sure if you're gonna win the million or not lol.

I like the Apprentice and wouldn't mind being on that if it was my thing, or American Idol if I could sing better, lol...

basically, the ones I like are the ones that I am not qualified for! :D

But 30 days away from my 2 little goobers... I don't think I could do that! :)

I would love to be on the Mole, but I probably wouldn't last long unless I was the Mole. That would be cool. I never figured out who the Mole was when I watched it.

Is that show still on? I remember it a while ago. I just watched it a little and I liked it.

*sorry to change the subject for a second  *
