  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could use some prayer

Just recently i was dumped, 2 days later the girl said she hasn't had any feelings for me for well over half a year and that she wanted to cheat on me. I forgave her immediately but was hurt. I suddenly started to have all this resentment towards her. God granted me with peace and forgiveness but it seems being human I still have stuff stored up. I would like prayers for forgiveness, peaceful sleep (formerly good dreams that i had with this girl in it is turning into a false reality of what use to be), and the ability to let go. I'm at a peace-level but i believe i still have strong emotions about this.

People can be really thoughtless toward others feelings. I am sorry brother. I have had girls in the past be soooo mean. Vicious, vindictive, female dogs, you know what I mean. Guys can be mean. Dude, you will find the right girl one day. I do not know much about you, but focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and don't look for another. He will bring the one eventually. In the meantime, let me pick up your spirits and encourage you. Eternity, of course will be awesome, so let it start now. We were fearfully and wonderfully made. God is going to put His arms, His Spirit around you and comfort you, because He comforts those who mourn. He is close to the broken hearted. I tell you what too, brother, He will vindicate you as well, because He does not like others to hurt the apples of His eye. I hope your ex-girlfriend learns a lesson from this, and I hope God is merciful and loving toward her as well. Be blessed, encouraged, and comforted. Jesus Christ loves you.;)

I agree that girls can be very, very mean and forgiveness is not easy either. I don't know why she said those things or if she even said those things, but I do know from your other posts that most of the people who know you both think she made a big mistake, so perhaps she is trying to justify her decision. Who ever she is talking to will "consider the source" although that might not make you feel any better. Lifting this up in prayer is the best thing you can do. You can't change other people only how you react to them. I pray that no matter what she says or does, you will stand firm in knowing that God will lead the right person in your life at the right time and I pray that you have peace during your wait.

Father, thank you for joining us in prayer and for all you do. Give our brother the peace and rest he is seeking and help him to ignore any negetive feedback he might get knowing he did the best he he could do in that relationship. Give him guidance and wisdom for future realtionships and give him comfort for the pain he feels in the meantime. Thank you for this and for all you do, AMEN:pray:
