• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could this generation of creationists be the last?

Answer 1. Nope You can believe what you want... your choice

Answer 2. Now you nor I know whether that is true or not do we?? We can only speculate what God might or might not being doing in cases like this. We don't know what's been going on behind the scenes nor how long it has taken.
1. Likewise.
2. While that's true, for two hundred years there has been a meager Christian population in China, when I said that, you said that Christianity was booming in China. So by those standards, QED.

The figures aren't released... but you know?

Atheism is mandated or the country is controlled by atheists? Some well off and open-minded countries are controlled primarily by atheists, but they were elected by the large atheist population. (parts of Europe) Last I checked, China allows it's citizens to practice religion (however, in a forcibly limited fashion) And other religions have spread much wider.

5.7 percent isn't the religious population it is the Christian population. My point is Hinduism and Buddhism are already there, and Christianity hasn't, in fact, made a dent in the Chinese culture.

And God hasn't done much multiplying in the last two hundred years or so westerner have been trying to convert china. Why is that? And why do you expect it to change.

No, Christianity will likely never make an impact into China's culture. And it is dwarfed by other religions there, like Buddhism.

I'd agree especially since religion that is in China will also be influenced by Confucianist thought in China. I understand Christianity as an evangelizing religion but I still don't understand the sort of numbers game(lets be #1) mentality that some people take to it.

It's always been that way with religions that insist on spreading their faith. When numbers dwindle it's troubling for them, if they have the undiluted word of God, why are people jumping ship for other religions?

Who would take you seriously if you said you believed in Zeus? No one, now that it's unpopular, but not believing it in Europe 2,000 years ago would make you an outcast.

A reality I find that U.S. Christians perhaps cannot face on the whole.

Well, Hellenic neopaganism does exist, you know.

Yes but to simply say that is to miss the point. Namely, that the sort of cultural pervasiveness no longer exists, even in a limited geographical region as it was globally.

Now that's a sad truth already predicted in the Bible for these last days.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Sadly no, while there are gullible people around there will be others who are more than willing to take advantage of them.

It might well change to aliensdidit instead of a Goddidit and for very good reasons, there is a far greater chance that aliensdidit rather than a God because aliens might very well exist.
Aliens out there? perhaps, Gods out there? no chance, unless anyone can give a reason why there should be Gods out there?
