  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

But it's an insult and shouldn't be allowed to go by. Jehovah's Witnesses are no farther from traditional Christian doctrine than many of the YECs we hear from in this forum.
Please, at least feign some respect when you don't have it.
Literal Genesis reading has been 'tradition' for millenia, you see.
Only in our naturalistic age has it become controversial.

Am I going to have to tell you again? You don't own the Christian religion or the Bible. You don't get to dictate to the rest of us who is a Christian and who is not.

Your interpretation of scripture goes way beyond the "literal" reading of previous centuries. From the point of view of world Christianity you guys are just another Protestant novelty sect, not the one true and only correct version of Christianity

No wonder God, Himself, killed animals in order to clothe Adam and Eve properly (Genesis 3:21), even though there is no indication that those animals did anything to deserve death. It seems that animal death, like the “death” of a plant, is not a moral evil, but rather is part of God’s plan for animals.
...

It was the first time mans sin wad covered by the death of an animal being sacrificed, and it was bad they had to be sacrificed and a price be paid by one other than the sinner...something I hope both Adam and Eve felt guilty about. It was the first hint to how God would ultimately cover mans sin.

Point being, it wasn't because the animal didn't matter or killing an animal isn't a moral issue. It is morally wrong that the animal had to die, but that was mans fault.

Yes!!!

no.
1 Corinthians 15:26-38, Common English Bible (CEB) Death is ...
Death is the last enemy to be brought to an end, since he has brought everything under control under his feet.

re: "Could There Have Been Any Death Before the Fall? "

Amen. The spirit of death described in Revelation with the 4th seal, we see that the spirit of Death itself kills animal life.

When that spirit of death is destroyed and cast into the lake of fire in Revelation, God is restoring creation and man back into the state as it was in the garden where there was no death for animals and no death for plants really.

The earth and heavens are reserved for fire. This fire will burn off all death and decay and impurities in creation itself, restoring it to absolute perfection where there is no death.

Whoever did the original post, that quote has its facts wrong about scripture. You can reject scripture if you like, but what they came up with is not what scripture is saying. The came up with man's wisdom and called it scriptural understanding. Seek the Lord, ask what God means in various verses, and be honest about it. God will reveal it.

Coming up with something that agrees with "science" isn't God. The reason being if you study science much at all, you will realize how badly deceived so called science really is.
