Oh, and your post on Saul- do you honestly expect anyone to read that lack of formatting? Just glancing at it gave me a headache.

Well, if the font is too small, you can enlarge the view by holding down 'Ctrl' and pressing '+' once or twice! But if you are more used to reading comic type formatting, then I'm sorry, I cannot help you.

Hi,

I've no problem with Mark ending with verse 8. I know the question scholars always ask is why should it end with fear? But from a very early part of church history, the four-fold gospel was already accepted. The gospels were all read together. That's why the Eastern church even wrote a harmonising Gospel to incorporate all four which they hold dear. What's missing in one gospel is more than adequately supplied in another.

Sorry, but unless there's paragraph breaks in sight it gives me a headache. If that offends you, that's not my problem. But you still haven't responded to my other posts, nor have you taken anything away from my position.

As Jawsmetroid said vengeance belongs to God, this is stated in many places in the Bible (Num 13:13,, Det 32, Ps 94:1, Mic 5:15, Nah 1:12 Ro12:14 …).

You reference Jeremiah 8:8 to support the idea that the bible has errors. But Jeremiah is all about life today, how the bible has been and is still being changed to satisfy the minds of men. God uses Israel as an example.

We know all of creation is cursed up to the last day (Romans 8, Rev 22:3) but all of non-human creation still follows God’s rules (Jer 8:7). It is people who have the bible (my people) that are not obeying Him. They are not listening to his word because they believe they are wise (verse 8). Many who claim to be Christians say they believe the bible but their actions speak differently. Some say the bible is from men and therefore not fully trustworthy and end up slightly changing scripture to accommodate their understanding. Thus they really do not place any value in the Bible. They believe they are wiser than God they are rejecting his word (Jer 8:9). For example they hold wrong ideas about salvation believing it is dependant on their actions. That they have to accept him or do something. They are not broken and do not trust that Christ will save them. The preaching of the cross to them is therefore foolishness (1 Corinth 1:8, 9).

In Jer 8:10 God specifically blames the people who should know better. Today more attention is given to the doctrines of a particular denomination which are often contrary to what is taught in the bible. They are covetous. Teaching peace and safety within a congregation avoiding talk about God’s wrath and trusting 100% in Christ. Going to church has become fun, full of entertainment and pleasing to the minds of men. Word gets out and the congregation grows and more money comes in. This is what Jeremiah 8:8 is about. Congregations believe they are wise that they understand God’s laws and are safe, but unfortunately many of the churches have changed the meaning of scripture (pen of scribes is in vain). This is remarkably similar to what was happening in the synagogues. The Pharisees did what they believed was good. They did not listen to Jesus and his word.

I recently came across a quote from Abraham Lincoln where he said about the bible "it is the best gift God has given to man." I know Lincoln was not a church going man but he understood the importance of the Bible. We all have to let God be true and trust in His word as it is written (2 Tim 3:16) for it is the path to salvation (Ro 10:17).

Brother Dave, wow! Thank you. Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on thine own understanding." Detut 8:3 "And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live."

Do you actually know what the Manna from Heaven is? ~ have you tasted it? Or are you speaking from mere beliefs.

Perhaps you would like to understand what it really is? ~ and perhaps taste it for yourself? ~ see (CLICK) here.

Hi, are you a Gnostic? And what does PLU mean? What's your point? Are you promoting your book?

Hi, are you a Gnostic? And what does PLU mean? What's your point? Are you promoting your book?

I do not like to classify myself by terms which are so easily misunderstood. Gnostic originally meant experiential knowledge (of God). Yes, I have experienced the Spiritual Vision (Beatific Vision) and Voice of God, and I have been revealed His ineffable Holy Name, and tasted the Heavenly Manna (Nectar), so I guess you might call me a 'gnostic'.

PLU simply stands for Peace, Love, & Understanding.

My point is spreading the Truth - not religious nonsense.

If anyone would like to read my book, I have freely published many passages from it on my gnostic forum.

PLU :)

Pardon my question but isn't gnosticism a heresy denounced by the Apostles? I don't suppose you accept the NT.

It was certainly denounced by the authoritarian hierarchical church, but according to its true definition (i.e. experiential 'first-hand' KNOWLEDGE of God) then Jesus Himself must have been a gnostic (if He Knew God)! It was because of these claims by Jesus that He was so hated by religionists (i.e. those who follow mere 'beliefs' without Knowledge - such as the Pharisees, then, as today).

That's not all gnostic means. You know that just as well as we do.

Just because a word has been used inaccurately to denote something incorrectly, does not alter the fact of what the word actually (truly) means. Gnosis is an ancient Greek word, the meaning of which is exactly as I defined it. Nothing more or less!

Jesus was obviously a true gnostic (having 'first-hand' experiential knowledge of God). Of course orthodoxy does not like people to claim such things, as it obviously diminishes the Priesthood's position of power and respect. So, just as always happens, the Priests turned on him and rid themselves of this 'troublemaker' by having him crucified by the Roman's.

Christians today would do exactly the same to anyone who claimed to be a gnostic God (but perhaps not actually killing them)! - just as they have done throughout their bloody and corrupt history.

PLU :)

What on earth are you talking about????

Very simple ~ this is what I am talking about:

John 6:31 "Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’"

Rev 2:17 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it."

You evidently claim to be a Gnostic and you claim to have eaten manna. So, what does it taste like? Haha.

As you obviously think Spiritual / Mystic / Gnostic experiences are some kind of joke, it is simply not worth talking to you about them.

When you grow up (Spiritually) you will learn for yourself about these experiences ~ SPIRITUAL LIGHT/FIRE, VOICE/SOUND, NECTAR/MANNA, & NAME/WORD of God.

PLU :)

P.S. Have you ever tasted Durian fruit (it is native to the Philippines)? There is simply no way to describe it ~ it is unique. As with the taste of most things, no description will suffice for those who have not experienced.

Hi folks!!!! I have seen the durian fruit when I was in Bali with my Dad. It's the most offensive smelling fruit in the world. You can smell it a mile away and it smells like excrement that's gone bad. I know the locals loved it. If your manna smells like that, you can keep it to yourself. Hehe.

It's not MY Manna that we are talking about ~ and if that's the best that a "senior veteran" of this site can do, then all I can say is God help you all!

Yippee! I love to be called a Senior Veteran!!! Hehe. Well, junior, I was merely describing what I felt about the Durian fruit which is native to Bali too. I really hated the smell and all I'm saying is if your manna tasted anything like that, keep it away from me. I really mean it.
