Isaac mean laughter and he was the promised son and so a type of Christ. Many people don't know that the Lord has a sense on humor. Another thing about the Lord is that He often speaks in parables and dark saying. We read that in the Psalms and we see that in the Bible, so it should be expected in our personal conversations with Him, but it still catches me off guard sometimes.
The other night I was in bed and trying to get back to sleep. I had crashed out in front of the TV after I had gotten off work. So about midnight I was up and trying to get back to sleep in my bed. I was having trouble so I asked the Lord to tell me something. I didn't want something too serious but some light humor, perhaps something a bit corny that might get me to sleep. Even though I hear from Him about a dozen times a day, I still find it amazing that I can ask Him and so often that small voice comes on just like He was always right there just waiting for me to turn to Him. Here is what He told me:
"There were two crows who flew down upon an ear of corn. One crow poked his nose into the ear of corn and pulled out a tasty morsel. Then other crows poked his nose into the ear of corn and got himself a tasty morsel. Then the first crows got a tasty morsel and pulled the ear of corn closer to himself. Then the other crow did the same.
They were each determined to get all the tasty morsels off that ear of corn, but neither one thought about getting and ear for themselves"
The thing about getting something corny from the Lord, it is best if you get it by find and ear yourself!
