I went to Cornerstone Festival in 96, 97 and 98 in Bushnell, Illinois!! Awesome time! In 98 there was a big rain and so the valley turned into a big giant mudslide. After telling my then 8 yr old son it was too dangerous and he couldnt go in, my cousin dragged me in. Well a freind came sliding down the hill feet first while i was in the mud pit and the bottom of his heel hit my kneecap head on. The cornerstone medics had to take me out in a golf cart to the paramedics station and then they brought me to the town hospital. I get there and the nurse yells out "another mudslide victim" and i ask her how many others got hurt in the mudlslide and she says "12". I was like, wow!! Anyways, MC Hammer was playing that night on the main stage and i kept asking in the emergency room if i would be done by 10pm because i wanted to see MC hammer!! lol. (I did get back in time, on crutches). I watched the mainstage that night, slept on the floor in a tent all night, woke up the next morning and thought i was gonna die i was in so much pain. Went home to see my doctor and he said my kneecap was shattered and i had major tendon and ligament damage! i ended up having surgery and was in a cast for 6 weeks. After that my hubby refused to go back to cornerstone and we havent ever since, but are thinking about going next year again!! (time heals all wounds)
