Cornell Study/Note Taking Method-Does it Work?

Hey, has anyone ever heard of the Cornell method of note taking and studying? I am back in college after a 3 year break and looking for faster, more effective ways of studying. Anybody have any experience with this?

I've never heard of it. My method of note-taking is to just write stuff down (or more commonly, not write stuff down).

I haven't heard of it. When I'm studying for exams, I spend hours writing down notes -- I remember things that I write down. Sometimes, I also make flash cards. I guess I am a visual learner.

I'm sure it works for some people, that must be why it got a name. But I just study the way I study. I take notes and I read. That's it. Sometimes I even focus, albeit for a short while.
