Copeland + freemasonry = what???

Ok, I need some proof here, anyone who can help...please do. I have watched kenneth Copeland Ministries bless myself and my friends for about 22 years now. Although he is annointed and knows the Word well, I know he is still a man, and is still prone to errors or mistakes as anyone.

but it has been presented to me...once again, that he is a freemason. You are hard pressed to get me to believe that he is. But where is this "proof" coming from that they claim is out there? anyone heard of any of this? I just heard that Copeland's brand new book has masonry symbols on it. and that his books in the past have too.

Anyone have some hard evidence to contradict the velocity of these theories? there is supposedly an old film of Copeland pretending to carry on a conversation in fake tongues with another guy. so on...

anyone know of these "symbols" and other things that I can present to my beautiful friend who loves the Lord, but feels this way towards Copeland?

well I heard it long ago when a new believer was exposed to it. It was so ridiculous, I just reassured her and we went on. well, a very good spirit filled friend of mine said she "did the research." and to "trust her" he is. she knows A LOT about freemasonry and knows the symbols and has actually seen footage etc. but again, I told her she was hard pressed to get that past me. She said she is sending the proof. I talked with Copeland ministries about it and they really had nothing to say. I was a little disappointed in their response. i wanted to know about the symbols and just get some answers. They weren't help so I thought maybe someone here could. Copeland ministries said that the rumor has been flying around for years...it's an old story. They were well aware of it and not concerned about it.

I just want to be equipted with myown proof or reassurance since it keeps popping up. I know I even waivered because there is only ONE issue that I have with copeland and it would answer that. So I would like to know! he is an awesome man of God and I would like to be able to explain this away for the next new Christian that is confused by it.

I saw a website about it once. Their proof was the cover of a single issue of their children's magazine. Kenneth had a cowboy outfit on and SHOCK: it had some little pin or something somewhere that was incredibly generic, but the website claimed was a freemason sign.

Pretty hilarious in my humble opinion.

I'm pretty sure Ken has better things to do than "send the secret signal" on issue #59 of the BVOV Kids Magazine.

Wow, now this is getting out of hand, I just did a search on google, and found that not only Copeland is their center of attack, but they are also accusing:

billy graham, kenneth Hagin, charles capps, marilyn hickey, fred price, robert tilton, buddy harrison, ray mccauley, oral roberts, benny hinn, paul crouch, norman vincent peale, robert schuller, and many more...of ALL being free masons.

well, I would still like some back bone to our defense. when we just shoe it off, we look like naive' sheep heading for the slaughter. Knowlege is power, and I would still like to prepared for the battle.

I remember one day I said something. And my friend looked at me strange. I said, "what?" they told me that what I just stated "meant" that I was a sleep-a-round. well, to me, I used words of the english language. Just because loose women mean it for one thing doesn't mean I am one of them because I used the same combination of words.

same with Copeland, so what if he used a triangle or some funny shaped box. they are geometrical forms.

Still, anyone with some back bone to this plea, please send info.

If you know Kenneth Copeland, you know he is VERY firm in NOT defending himself in any way.

He does not respond to his critics.... he allows God to acquit him.

That doesn't mean this kind of stuff doesn't rank up my hackles and make me want to defend him from the highest mountaintop!

They say that this photo with the compass and square is showing his "obvious" involvement with freemasonry... I took architectural drafting for three years - using the same instruments, does that make me part of freemasonry???

I'm sure anyone who has been online more than a few months knows you cant believe everything said on the internet - in fact maybe only about 20 % is true. Thats being gullible. And someone who opposes what a person believes is going to believe the heresay and critics, speading more gossip, which is damaging to anyone. Its as simply as that

~ Actually, Norman Vincent Peale was both a mason and shriner (by his own admission). Interesting to find that there are thousands of Southern Baptist pastors who are masons as well.. (As well as other denominations...)
~ I sincerly doubt that most of the individuals mentioned above are masons.
~ One could always pray about it though...

True on these two accounts. Copeland and my old pastor are very good friends and I know that Copeland will not even read anything about him, good or bad, let alone defend himself. which is probably why his office staff didn't feel the need to provide me with any info.

and as far as the "symbols," I too was in geometry and used those tools, and if you look at the title of the book those are drafting tools that are necessary for building a structure.

I dont so much want to defend him as I want to know the truth. My friend is convinced of his involvment and I would love to help her understand that it is intrue. But there is always the question...could it be? As stated in an above post, some are masons by admission. I live in a state where freemasonry abounds. My own friends are!!! it's a very deep deception, and they honestly really don't see anything wrong with being involved.

Again, it's hard pressed to get me to believe Capps or Copeland and others are, but who knew Swaggart was with prostitutes? who knew Baker was mishandling money? ...well I take that back, spirit filled Christians knew there was something up....

The burden of proof is on the person making the accusation. It's not on you. If she believes he is involved, ask her why. Then start asking her for proof. Where is it?

unfortunatley, she IS sending proof. but I can't imagine it's any more than I am seeing on the internet. She says she saw a video. But I told her it was before his ministry, which has nothing to do with him today, 35 years later...we'll see what see has.

WELL, I THINK I CAN ABOUT WRAP THIS ONE UP....

I did a little of my own research...not only are they claiming stupid things like the pictures on his tape albums are mason symbols (triangle, a star, a compass, a pointed tower...) but they are basing their theories on "a guy, who is anonomys, saw Copeland at a meeting. this is not confirmed though."

so we have "some guy" and "isn't confirmed"

this stuff in itself is not proof to me.

But here is what will kick you in the head!!!!....this is where I put my foot down...

they claim that he is a free mason because of his teachings. and they say that Copeland believes and teaches the following....

1-Copeland claims to be God.

2-he chants "I AM" over and over

3-he teaches that "Jehovah" means "half man - half woman," and says that God is just as much female as he is male. AND that Adam was half female (made in the likeness of God) until female was pulled out of him.

4-teaches that God lives on a mother planet

5-teaches that his "hermaphroditic God" is about 200lbs, about 6' 2", and is 9" in width.

6- (now get this) copeland teaches that when Jesus was taken to be crucified, he was gang raped and sodomised by homosexual roman soldiers.

now I ask you, and me, are the above teachings anything you have ever heard come out of Copelands mouth? Is this the Copeland that we know? I have followed his teachings for 22 years now....I never heard this stuff!!!! have you? Copeland practically lived at my church. My pastor and him are close friends...it's not the copeland that I know!

Forget proof...they lost me on the false teachings!!!!

Again thanks. I still have my questions when it comes to Copeland, but I know he is not a freemason. and I DO know he is still a wonderful, annointed man of faith that has brought an uncompromised gospel to the world.
