Cooped up

I feel stir crazy and bring cooped up for so long.

It gets so old.

Different day, same old, same old.

Any advice?

Maybe shake up your routine? Rearrange things. Spend time doing something different than you normally do. If you feel cooped up, do you have access to public transportation you could take advantage of?

Not really. Public transportation is awful here. Other than work, Church, and home, I never leave.

Do you get out to exercise? Maybe walk and pray the rosary? Friends drop by or go out with for dinner or a movie?

I used to go out for extended walks daily when I was younger. Sightsee. Visit places.

I go sit outdoors. I don't do much; just stare at bugs and birds, but it definitely helps with loneliness and feeling cooped up.

I also sometimes walk to the local liquor store or gas station and buy myself some candy. It's kind of small, but gives me a chance to get out of the house and buy myself something wee and fun. Plus I get a little exercise.

All of the walking I did probably gave me the good cardiovascular health I have in my 60s.

Exercise and movement does lift one’s spirits. I know it’s hard to motivate when you feel so down but giving it a try might help. Continued prayers for you Riley.

All my friends and most of my family passed away. So, I started going to a restaurant for coffee. I ended up making friends there.
