Take a look at these two 10 base pair sequences:

AATGGCTAGA
AACGGCTAGA

1. The bases highlighted in red represent one mutation, what is the percent difference between those sequence?

Now, take a loot at these sequences:

AATGGCTAGA
AA-------AGA

2. The gap represent by --- was caused by one mutation. What is the percent difference between those two sequences?

Now, take a loot at these sequences:

That's less then 50% sequence identity. In direct comparisons you line the two DNA strands up one alongside the other, when there is a sequence in one that is not in the other, like your pedantic question, it's assumed to be the result of an insertion or a deletion. It's not it's just a difference.

What you you say it is, 99%? Because that's what Darwinians always say it is no matter how many difference, no matter how many ways it would have killed off the species to get there.

Is this supposed to explain why Evolutionists lie about the divergence between chimpanzees and humans in their DNA?
