Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"The power of imagination that Disney World produces became apparent to me while I was working there. As we were setting up for a parade one day, a storm suddenly hit. Thunder boomed, lightening flashed, and people dashed for cover. Through the downpour, however, one woman stood alone in the middle of the street, gazing at the sky. I walked over to ask if I could be any assistance.
Thoroughly drenched by now, she looked at me and asked in a puzzled tone, "Is this for real?"

Thanksgiving 8000 calorie poem

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!

On the Day of Judgment, every servant of God will remain standing (before Him) until he is questioned about his life and how he spent it; about his knowledge and how he utilized it; about his wealth, from where he acquired it and in what (activities) he spent it; and about his body as to how he used it.
The Prophet Muhammad (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 148)

All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam!
(Refrain)

O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in Heaven along,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou rising moon, in praise rejoice,
Ye lights of evening, find a voice!
(Refrain)

Thou flowing water, pure and clear,
Make music for thy Lord to hear,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou fire so masterful and bright,
That givest man both warmth and light.
(Refrain)

Dear mother earth, who day by day
Unfoldest blessings on our way,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
The flowers and fruits that in thee grow,
Let them His glory also show.
(Refrain)

And all ye men of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
O sing ye! Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God and on Him cast your care!
(Refrain)

And thou most kind and gentle Death,
Waiting to hush our latest breath,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou leadest home the child of God,
And Christ our Lord the way hath trod.
(Refrain)

Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
(Refrain)

I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear of falling
Or of catching fire
I choose to inhabit my days
To allow my living to open me
Making me less afraid
More accessible
To loosen my heart
So that it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise
I choose to risk my significance.
To live so that that which comes to me as seed
Goes to the next as blossom
And that which comes to me as blossom

Goes on as fruit.

We prevent God from giving us the great spiritual gifts He has in store for us, because we do not give thanks for daily gifts. We think we dare not be satisfied with the small measure of spiritual knowledge, experience, and love that has been given to us, and that we must constantly be looking forward eagerly for the highest good. Then we deplore the fact that we lack the deep certainty, the strong faith, and the rich experience that God has given to others, and we consider this lament to be pious. We pray for the big things and forget to give thanks for the ordinary, small (and yet really not small) gifts. How can God entrust great things to one who will not thankfully receive from Him the little things?

"Power is all perception. Its nonuse is its greatest use. The trick is to use the least amount of power to create the maximum amount of change. Someone who has elegance can apply power selectively, like a lazer, and carefully, almost unobtrusively, so that you don't feel you're being overpowered. You feel you're being motivated."

"At the same time the man who has become a thinking being feels a compulsion to give to every will-to-live the same reverence for life that he gives to his own. He experiences that other life in his own. He accepts as being good:
to preserve live,
to promote life,
to raise to its highest value life which is capable of developement;

and as being evil:

to destroy life,
to injure life,
to repress life which is capable of developement.

This is the absolute, fundamental principle of the moral, and it is a necessity of thought."

~Albert Schweitzer

"The fundamental fact about the Greek was that he had to use his mind. The ancient Priests has said, "Thus far and no farther. We set the limits of thought."
The Greeks said, "All things are to be examined and called into question. There are no limits set on thought."

It is raining still... Maybe it is not one of those showers that is here one
minute and gone the next, as I had so boldly assumed. Maybe none of them
are. After all, life in itself is a chain of rainy days. But there are times
when not all of us have umbrellas to walk under. Those are the times when we
need people who are willing to lend their umbrellas to a wet stranger on a
rainy day. I think I'll go for a walk with my umbrella.
