There is no issue here Bryan. You made this story public and I only wanted to be helpful as a Christian; the Holy Spirit does all the work any way and God will lead all in His own way. You will learn this to be true since you have only been a Christian since 2008 according to your profile. You might learn that your open remark was too strong for a new Christian to make.[QUOTE]You must fully understand that you don't know what you are talking about. I've known this man for 8 years. We had offices across the hall from each other for 4 years. He is a good Christian who earnestly seeks the truth. And he has been miserable in the Baptist church for the last two years. He keeps moving from one Baptist church to another in the hopes that one of them will be different. We've talked for many hours over the years about faith, Spirit, grace, and salvation. We know a lot about each other.
.If he is more depressed, he could need to speak with someone else also. He could be refereed to the CF.I've talked to him about the Wesleyan views on grace and salvation, but he wasn't ready to hear it and I didn't know enough to explain it then. He got moved across town about 7 months ago, so we haven't had much time to talk lately.
In that time, I've learned a lot and he's become more depressed. When we had our talk on Tuesday, he was ready to listen and I had knowledge of the thing he was seeking
My brother, Christ said the Holy Spirit is the true teacher of all Christians. Your next comment was nor pessary and suggest you might not be following what Christ wants to say to me and others. As for staying in his Baptist church with his new knowledge....why? Have you ever been a Southern Baptist?? They do not accept new doctrines with open hearts and open minds! I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but they just aren't Wesleyan so they aren't going to be happy when he starts teaching his Sunday school class about Prevenient Grace.
You made known to us all the joy your friend had. We believed you. *staff edit*So, please *staff edit* accept that maybe the Holy Spirit was at work on Tuesday afternoon. Or maybe it wasn't. But, you weren't there to see the joy on his face and I was. *staff edit*
