  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know you guys get a lot of these, but here it goes

Last Monday, I was completely delivered from my masturbation addiction and I was full of joy. My walk with God has been good. I read my bible daily, pray and go to church. Then my body gives in and I fall into the Sam sin that I thought I got delivered from. Someone please tell me what's going on. Every time I fall, I repent and ask God to forgive me, but I don't know what else to do. I'm tired of falling. I'm saved and filled with his spirit, but sometimes I don't even know

I would not question your faith, but do recommend one prayfully examine their relationship with God. As the Apostle James said: "Devils also believe in God and tremble", and there surely won't be any devils in Heaven.

Salvation and blessings of God are found in His beloved Son alone (see 1 Jn. 5:10-13 and pray about that). Jesus said: "No man cometh to the Father, but by Me" (John 14 -KJV: a good chapter to study and pray about). Faithful saints need to be in communion with the Savior all day. Look up always!

I am in the same situation as you are. But i don't give up hope or loose my faith. The problem is that both of us face is that we are in bondage or chains and shackles to it. This is one place were satan knows your weakness and makes you loose faith, or become frustrated. This is want he wants. Anything to separate us from the lord almighty. The thing you got to remember is that through God all things are possible. God has given you authority to overcome all things. This is a though trial/test that you are going through. But with God's help he can help you be bold, be strong, and be courageous and help you face anything, the more you keep givin it to the lord the stronger you get to over come it.

I thought the chains had been broken, at least, that's what another Christian said over my life and I actually felt it. I absolutely had no desire the entire week until today......

I do have a relationship with the father. I have devotions every morning and night, read heavily, and participate in ministries.

.... My walk with God has been good. I read my bible daily, pray and go to church. Then my body gives in and I fall into the Sam sin that I thought I got delivered from...

All Christians have a lifelong struggle with sin of various kinds. The victory is never complete till we get to Heaven.

Paul writes in Romans 7: "So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

You might benefit from some good books on the Christian life, like The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Lewis writes: "Humans are amphibians—half spirit and half animal... As spirits they belong to the eternal world, but as animals they inhabit time. This means that while their spirit can be directed to an eternal object, their bodies, passions, and imaginations are in continual change, for to be in time means to change. Their nearest approach to constancy, therefore, is undulation—the repeated return to a level from which they repeatedly fall back, a series of troughs and peaks."

You ask 'if I'm set free Why do I keep falling?

Many think that Being 'delivered' from any bondage is just a prayer but sorry this is just part of the process, What we do not realise is this freedom is only kept through the renewing of our mind which only comes by reading and studying God's Word and as we do this the Holy Spirit transforms our mind and thinking so that we can become the people God wants us to be

Radagast is right, we all struggle with sin and temptation, and it is a lifelong struggle. But you can overcome sinful habits and addictions and rid them from your life, but we must always be on guard against temptation.

Remember Gods gift of grace. Though we dont deserve it, he gives grace to us freely. Through this grace and love, and through Jesus all our sins are forgiven. God loves you and I and everyone, even though we are sinners. Ask yourself why continue in sin which is against God, when He loves you regardless? Why be unrepentant? If you find yourself going through a cycle of sin/repent/sin/etc. it may be that you are trying to do it by yourself, to prove you can do it, and not relying on God. It doesnt work like that, i tried so long this way with sexual sin, and always fell straight back into it.

Try and identify the moments that you find yourself in temptation, - is it when you are angry, bored, alone, frustrated? Try and identify these situations in order to guard yourself from the potential temptations. Accept that you are on God's side and not the enemy's side, despite the sinful nature. Jesus paid the price for sin, be thankful and joyous for this. Realise that no longer do you need to be a slave to this. Most importantly, give it all to God, when temptation is strong, pray to God and be willing to let Him deliver you from sin. But you have to be willing, in other words truly repent from the sin in your heart. We are never tempted more than we can handle. If you allow God to take control, He is much stronger than any sin or temptation can ever be.

Always turn to God, because as we fail from time to time, God never does.

Yep we all struggle. I have gotten rid of my addiction at looking at stuff I shouldn't. And I have lessened my MB thing. However I choose not to get rid of MB totaly because I don't believe its a sin if you can MB without lustful thoughts.

This is a hot-button issue of course. Some assume because they lust while MB that everyone else must. Like anything else you can train yourself to rid yourself of lust when it comes to this subject.

Does this mean I am perfect? Of course not. But I will say I feel no guilt now that I do things diffrently.

Now it's just me wondering if he see what I'm going through. Then I also had this thought, maybe this sin is always going to be a thorn in my side to keep me seeking Jesus. he knows our hearts desires and he knows I'm no getting pleasure from it at all. But perhaps this is what he's using to keep me wanting more of him

Perhaps, but under no circumstance should you doubt your salvation or allow anyone else call your salvation into question. Your sins died on the cross with Christ.

I struggle with the same sin and it is a depressing cycle to be caught in. I truly want to be free from this bondage of sin as well!!

Guilt and depression is directly from Satan. You should free yourself of this bondage before anything else or the enemy will forever hold you in bondage, no matter what the sin.

You're already free from the bondage of sin. The devil is a liar! Christ has already paid the price.

The best way I think of it is just take a glimpse at your old life (if your born again) and realize how much that you have changed..and now you are beating yourself for something so minor as MB. Not to say that it is ok to sin whatever your sin is..I am saying that you are making a lot of progress no matter how much you feel that you are not. Your standards have raised a lot.

Father,
I come boldly before Your throne of grace and mercy to find help and strength my time of need. Lord Your word says to watch and pray so that we will not enter into temptation, for we know that the spirit is willing, but Father my flesh is weak.

Lord, I submit myself to You, for Your word says that if we submit ourselves unto You, that we could resist the enemy and he would flee from us. Lord I am fully submitted to You, all that I am, all that I ever hope to be. I surrender unto You.

Father, I am weak but thou art strong, I know in my weakness You are made strong. I know that my strength is not in my will to withstand the devil and his many temptations, but my faith, my strength, my hope is in You. Therefore, Lord I confess that I am strong in You, and in the power of Your might.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I cast down every wicked, lustful, lascivious, and unclean thought of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I refuse to allow any thoughts of the enemy to enter in; I dismiss them from me in the name of Jesus. Father, I pray that You will cause me to think upon those things which are pure, honest, and of a good report, and I pray that You will not allow my mind to wander into idleness, but to stay upon the name of Jesus.

Father, I pray that You will place upon me the whole amour of God, so that I will always be able to stand against the tricks of the enemy. I pray that You will lead and deliver me from every temptation of lust, sin, and evil.

In the name of Jesus, I take authority over Satan, every principality, every evil spirit, and every spirit of wickedness in high places. I bind them up in the name of Jesus Christ and render them helpless from operating in my life. In the name of Jesus I bind and cast off ever spirit of lust, adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, and uncleanliness in my life. Father, I surrender my body to you as a living sacrifice, and I recognize that my body is the temple of the Almighty Living God and a dwelling place for His Holy Spirit and I rejoice in knowing that the blood of Jesus Christ covers me.

Satan, in the name of Jesus, every stronghold, You have tried to bring against me has been rendered helpless, powerless and ineffective to operate in my life, by the authority of Jesus Christ! I put off all forms of lust and put on the new nature of righteousness, purity, and honesty. Jesus has defeated satan in my life, and now you are under my feet, and your power of lust and sin is broken in my life.

Father, I thank You for hearing my prayer, and delivering me from the tricks of the enemy. I thank You for Your word and how it is established in my heart and in my life. I thank You for giving me power over the enemy, I thank You for strengthening me so that I will not defile my body, and that it will be a temple for the Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord, for restoring me, for cleansing me, and for forgiving me for my weakness. I praise You; I give You all the glory and say Hallelujah to the name of Jesus.

In Jesus name Amen!
