I NEED ADVICE IF ANYONE HAS ANY TO GIVE. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR TEN YEARS TO A MAN WHO ABUSED ME FOR 8 YEARS. HE HAD MOVED TO A DIFFERENT STATE 3 YEARS AGO, TO LIVE WITH A GIRL HE MET ON THE INTERNET. I HAD SENT MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER OUT TO VISIT HIM ONE AND A HALF YEARS AGO. SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO COME HOME IN THE FALL OF 2006. EVERY TIME I FILE PAPERS IN COURT IN THE STATE WHERE HE IS HE MOVES TO ANOTHER STATE. NOW HE HAS HAD AN OPEN CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES CASE. FOR THE PAST MONTH I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO THE WORKER OUT THERE TO TRY TO GET MY DAUGHTER BACK HOME. IN THE PROCESS OF DOING SO MY EX HAS CALLED THE POLICE AND CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES HERE AND FILED FALSE CHARGES AGAINST ME. THE WORKER HERE IS TRYING TO TALK TO THE WORKER THERE TO SEE IF SHE WILL SEND MY DAUGHTER HOME OR IF I CAN GO OUT THERE AND GET HER WITHOUT HAVING TO STAY AND DEAL WITH THEIR SOCIAL SERVICES THERE. I HAVE HAD CUSTODY OF OUR 2 KIDS SINCE 2000. PLEASE PRAY THAT THE CONTROL THAT HE HAS ON MY LIFE WILL STOP, THAT MY DAUGHTER WILL COME HOME, AND THAT I CAN FINALLY DIVORCE HIM AND MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! ANGELLA

thank you for the words of encouragement. i have a new issue that goes along the same line. now both social services agencies in both states want me to come get her now. i can not afford the plane fare so does any one know of ant agencies or help that i can get to retrieve my daughter?

I saw your post and couldnt pass by and not reply.. I know advice is given in general terms, so I'll be brief.. Is there any family members whom you can ask for money or a credit card to pay for the air fair so you can fly to get your child home and offer to pay the person back? There's one solution I would work out weather its family or a very close friend.. I do not know of any emergancy agencies around but you can look them up or talk to your lawyer or social worker.. TALKING TO SOCIAL WORKERS AND LAWYERS HAVE NOT WORKED. THE LAWYERS SAY THAT I NEED ABOUT 3000 DOLLARS TO BRING UP CHARGES AGAINST MY EX FOR PARENTAL KIDNAPPING. THEN LEGAL AID FEELS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO DEAL WITH THIS TYPE OF CASE. I HAVE CUSTODY AND WHY DOES THAT NOT GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO HAVE THIS ALL WORK OUT. THE SOCIAL WORKERS DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE AGAINST MY EX TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER OUT OF HIS HOME. UNTIL THEY HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE THEY CAN NOT USE THE REUNIFICATION FUND SET UP BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. VOLENTEER SERVICES AT SOCIAL SERVICES WILL HELP WITH A HUNDREDR DOLLARS THAT IS ALL THEY CAN DO. THE WORKERS IN BOTH STATES ARE TRYING TO GET ME THERE TO GET HER. THEY BELIEVE (AND SO DO I) THAT IF SHE STAYS THERE MUCH LONGER HE WILL MESS WITH HER HEAD BEYOND REPAIR. AS FOR MY FAMILY, THAT IS A DIFFERENT STORY. EVERYONE IN THE FAMILY HAS BEEN HANDED EVERYTHING ALL THEIR LIVES. THEY HAVE NOT A HEART OF GENEROSITY. THEY TOLD ME THAT I CHOSE TO MARRY MY EX AND THAT I NEED TO DEAL WITH THE CONSIQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS. THERE IS NO FAMILY SUPPORT BUT MY EXES FAMILY IS TRYING TO RAISE MONEY FOR ME. BUT ALL THEY HAVE COME UP WITH SO FAR IS 50 DOLLARS. THEY DO NOT HAVE MUCH BUT THEY SUPPORT THE FACT THAT MY DAUGHTER NEEDS TO COME HOME BECAUSE THEY ADMIT THAT MY EX IS NOT THE NICEST MAN ON EARTH. A FRIEND HAD PUT OUT CONTAINERS FOR HELP AT THE STORES IN THIS AREA BUT THE STORES SAY THAT THEY NEED DOCUMENTATION THAT ABUSE IS GOING ON AND THAT I HAVE CUSTODY. Since you have legal custody, then he kidnapped your child and you can legally, call the State police and report a kidnapped child...no lawyers needed, but contact the state police, not local police. State Police (troopers) can work with other states when Amber Alerts are issued...this won't cost you any money and Amber Alerts go out immediately nation wide.

the problem with an amber alert is that he had visitation of her in the state he is in now and the amber alert is used to find a missing child. here the situation is that the states and the social workers know where he is and their hands are tied due to the one little phrase reasonable parenting time. there is also a phrase in the custody order that states that the residence of the child shall not be removed from the state of michigan. unfortunately to have him get in trouble for that i have to pay 2500 dollars to an attorney who can file contempt against him then he will be mandated to bring her back. but then again jurisdiction is at play there where each state says the other has jurisdiction.the whole thing is a mess and now i am running out of time cause the workers only have 30 days to press charges or close the case, there are only 5 more days left then he can flee state again.

It's sad that talking to lawyers is useless unless you have a lot of money to throw around.

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO BACK IF YOU HAVE THE PASSION AND THE COMPASSION TO DO SO. WE NEED CARING PEOPLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS WILD LEGAL SYSTEM THAT THIS COUNTRY HAS.
