Complaints that the flood would not cause the motion to begin, but a pole-shift certainly would. And the pole-shift happened just 150 years after the flood.

I am not a scientist. I rely on the overwhelming consensus of the scientific community in these matters. How about you?

Don't skirt the issue. Let the USGS know how wrong they are. There may be a Nobel Prize in it for you.

There was no pole shift. If there was a (physical) pole shift the earth would be reduced to a molten mass of superheated rock and vapor just before it crumbled and was obliterated into nothing but a few small (molten) asteroids by the sheer force and searing heat.

Bear, I am trying to get you to talk to me, not just say what others have said.
Do YOU think these could be factors or not?
The scientist can not use figures they do not have, therefore if the drift has slowed over the past centuries they would have no way of determining how fast they were moving in the first place, nor when they began to drift.
So all they can do is use the current figures and work back.

Isn't this a question that must be addressed in this discussion?
Isn't it relavant?

Yep you are completely right. But the Reversal of Earth's magnetic field did happen. Very few hundred thousand years Earth's magnetic field dwindles almost to nothing for perhaps a century, then gradually reappears with the north and south poles flipped. The last such reversal was 780,000 years ago.

Sure, Duane.

I could sit here and make up all kinds of stuff, based on any logic or wild imagination. I could logically draw a line to any conclusion, just like you do. But, what is this based on? My own imagination, unchecked against tests and predicted results? I could say that the sun is a giant flashlight, using 2000 batteries to run it, and that it only shines on one side, that the other side of the sun is dark.

What do you want me to do, play along and give plausability to your whacked-out view of how our natural world works?
