  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We've started giving him a couple ounces of nursery water now. He still has it bad today, I have sat with his legs pulled up, tried the thermometer trick, I finally took Vaseline and a sturdy q-tip and broke some of it up for relief enough that he would stop screaming and get some sleep, that worked for about an hour, then had to repeat the process over. The poor guy is grunting and trying to push it out in his sleep right now.

I did get some cute pics last night before and during his bath.

Before we woke him up for his bath:

Being burped:

And being cute and cooing and smiling before we made him mad:

And of course, the bath:

Also, fyi, he doesn't get to sleep on his belly unless he's throwing a fit during the day, because that's the only way he'll go to sleep, he has to be on his firm travel mat, and he has to be within arms reach of me.

He's adorable!! What a precious little guy..awwwwwww.

My oldest had a lot of constipation. Found out she was lactose intolerant. She switched to soy and it was easier on her. Even now, at almost 13, she's lactose intolerant. She can have some milk...like eat some cheese or have cereal....but if she drinks cups of milk(like when her grandmother buys chocolate milk by the gallon)...she suffers. We went through a lot of suppositories when she was younger...and then prune juice when she was a bit older.

Hope he gets some relief soon....poor little guy.

are you breastfeeding? If so, there's a chance he's just grunting, babies don't always poop every day. Otherwise (and check with your MD) try switching formulas (a friends baby was just in the hosp. with a bowel blockage, reacted poorly to the formula). Another baby I know had a preferated bowel and pooping was very painful, so his natural defence was to not.
don't mean to be the alarmist.

1 oz. of black cherry juice might help. Once DD started solids she started to have some issues with that. As she is older, I start her with three oz. with two oz. of water. I know he's just a little guy and needs as much space in his tummy as possible for milk or formula. I'm sure one oz a day would work.

We give one bottle of that to her daily until we see a distinct change. It can be pretty powerful stuff though, so beware. We gave her 5 oz once and a few hours she had a tummy ache followed by a major blow out and the runs. It got the job done, but it was a little to strong.

A friend of mine used to give her son a tiny amount of lactulose with his feed - check the recommendations on the bottles/containers, it should give you a recommended amount for babies. She said it worked a treat, he never was constipated again :)

I'm using it now for pregnancy (sorry prob TMI) and it's also working well. The good thing about Lactulose, apparently, is that it bulks the stuff in the bowels by drawing in more water, making it softer and therefore easier to pass.
