Sure, for my husband! He was once told be an older gentleman that there was no place for humor in the pulpit. He let that bother him a while but God knew that was part of his personality when He called him to preach.

I personally think it's a wonderful asset to a pastor.

I absolutely think God has a sense of humor - just look at the platypus. ;-)

I think that Ben probably made a joke about something the man considered to be too reverent to joke about but he didn't tell Ben.

I did suggest to Ben not to joke about something like water baptism. Like he shouldn't say things like "hold 'em under 'til they bubble".

I can prove God has a sense of humor. Yuh see there was a young Christian couple planning their wedding. They requested the baker to put 1st John 4:18, everything up to the colon, on the cake:

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear"

Well, the baker was not a Christian and didn't realize there was a difference between 1st John and the Gospel of John. I'll let y'all look up what was on the cake...
