Keeper of the Stars Below

Keeper of the stars below, defender of the right.
Descender to the unknown to hold the mountain's height.
The roots of trees reach down deep, to lift the highest elm.
So every soul who will keep the purest upper realm.
The stars will shine every jot, the eyes will hold them fast,
But if the worlds hold them not, the glimmer never lasts.
So shall I uphold the stars recast in every eye.
But dirty hands must I mar; as the stone, so must I
So let it suffice to know your eye can shine tonight.
Keeper of the stars below shall keep them in you sight.
