To the OP, and I am replacing my posts indiscriminately,

A preacher is a member of a 5 fold ministry, and as one of those, you will actually be told that you have a gift of preaching,

That is not to say that your calling may not be preaching if you were not relayed this from above.

You said this:

(Recently, I had a dream where I was chasing after some people who offended me, wanting to get revenge, and I heard a voice from above that said, "Unless you learn to accept Jesus, you're never going to be happy.")

This is very important, and I will try and convey a few things,
Offense is a very dangerous enemy,
There are subconscious walls that are built by offense, these walls stop love, and block love. If you are loveless, know that you are offended.

As I am reading, I invite you to join me in reading Matthew 5:2-9. Those commands are as diamonds to me at this moment in time, which are from Jesus, and as your dreams suggests, let us know him better together.

The very disrespectful remark you made is reportable. Clearly you are NOT Spirit led or filled, or controlled. You need to STOP typing, go to your prayer closet and ask the LORD for direction. It is NOT your position to say how long a pastor should stay, or where he should go or for how long....that is the HOLY SPIRITS job, NOT yours to say or judge.

IMO you have no idea what the HOLY SPIRIT is or what He does. IMO you perhaps need to spend some time reading the BIBLE instead of making remarks you know little.

I bless you! forgive me these things, please. I am replacing my posts for good reason, and you convey this.

Hi everyone, I thought I'd revive this thread by giving an update. I've been rejected by TWO seminaries so far. Despite what one poster stated, when I visited seminaries, I was under the impression that they ARE "begging for applicants" and will take "just about anyone." My parents think it's because of my autobiography - too many negative details and no explanation of how I would help others. I guess seminaries are looking for nearly "perfect" people - like, representatives of Christ on Earth!
I am very worried that if I don't get into the next two seminaries, my life will be pretty much over.

Did you approach a presbytery as I suggested, GottLiebe? My guess (based on the very different system of my denomination) is that if you go with a presbytery recommendation in hand the conversation might be quite different.

I think you have discovered the ignored fact that yes seminaries are looking hard at people wanting to attend. The do look for "red flags" that might indicate that they do not fit in with your goals and or expectations.

Are you submitting applications to seminaries that are connected with the denomination your church is aligned with? Make sure your pastor has prepared a letter of recommendation for your admission.

Above all make sure you are praying that the Lord Jesus will guide and open doors for you. May God bless you.
