steve, yeah those peeps are cool. They came to your personal defense though. I am talking about people who play the devils advocate by condmening all conservatives as meanies.
I never see libs doing that.
I think I understand what you are saying... I haven't been around that much in CCC for the last couple of weeks, so I have missed out on all the "fun", and am sorta clueless as to the major battle going on right now, and why people are leaving...
HOWEVER, from what I
have read it seems that people don't understand what "Tough Love" is, and think instead that we are all being un-Christ-like and mean when we are simply holding a firm line on our beliefs and refusing to bend over backwards to accomodate those who would take issue with us.
It baffles me why people think that being tough = not being loving, and/or considerate as long as people are generally being respectful of one another... (i.e. no flaming, or name-calling, etc...).
Jesus himself did not suffer fools gladly. It was Jesus himself who overturned the tables in the Temple with the money changers. Peter is NOT sitting at the gates of heaven welcoming anyone and everyone! While it is true that we must act with compassion, we are not called to tolerate that which we understand to be immoral, or un-Christian in behavior -- especially if it can be clearly backed up by scriptures.
If we were to accept anyone and everyone in this forum then it would cease to be the Conservative Christian Forum, and we might as well all start posting in the WWMC forum.
I honestly don't understand what all the arguing is about. I don't understand why people are leaving frankly...
YES, we are called to open ourselves up to others in love and compassion, but this doesn't mean to turn a blind eye! AND, metaphorically speaking to do so would be to spare the rod and spoil the child, would it not???
UGH... If anyone can point me in the direction to where all of this started (if anyone even knows) I would be appreciative. I just don't get what's going on in here...
