• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You know the ones. They're conservative so they say, but their biggest beef of all is with the other conservatives who are just so mean.

My question to these devil's advocates is --- Where are the liberal devil's advocates who will go to bat for the conservatives? I NEVER see any of them. Sure would be nice to meet one some day.

Annabel Lee has come to my defense on many occasions.
Kimber1 and Abiel too.

Grannybel is cool. When I was posting on IIDB and getting quite a few jabs, she consistently called their bluff and pointed out double standards. She is a neat person.

IIDB = Internet Infidels Discussion Board. They have a sub forum (~E~lsewhere) that discusses CF/4U.

I am eternally banned for that forum. And darned pleased about it.
When I was bannedone member (staff) posted, "Ding Dong the witch is dead" A party ensued.

LOL

steve, yeah those peeps are cool. They came to your personal defense though. I am talking about people who play the devils advocate by condmening all conservatives as meanies.

I never see libs doing that.

Cool, I have peeps and minions!

I think I understand what you are saying... I haven't been around that much in CCC for the last couple of weeks, so I have missed out on all the "fun", and am sorta clueless as to the major battle going on right now, and why people are leaving...

HOWEVER, from what I have read it seems that people don't understand what "Tough Love" is, and think instead that we are all being un-Christ-like and mean when we are simply holding a firm line on our beliefs and refusing to bend over backwards to accomodate those who would take issue with us.

It baffles me why people think that being tough = not being loving, and/or considerate as long as people are generally being respectful of one another... (i.e. no flaming, or name-calling, etc...).

Jesus himself did not suffer fools gladly. It was Jesus himself who overturned the tables in the Temple with the money changers. Peter is NOT sitting at the gates of heaven welcoming anyone and everyone! While it is true that we must act with compassion, we are not called to tolerate that which we understand to be immoral, or un-Christian in behavior -- especially if it can be clearly backed up by scriptures.

If we were to accept anyone and everyone in this forum then it would cease to be the Conservative Christian Forum, and we might as well all start posting in the WWMC forum.

I honestly don't understand what all the arguing is about. I don't understand why people are leaving frankly...

YES, we are called to open ourselves up to others in love and compassion, but this doesn't mean to turn a blind eye! AND, metaphorically speaking to do so would be to spare the rod and spoil the child, would it not???

UGH... If anyone can point me in the direction to where all of this started (if anyone even knows) I would be appreciative. I just don't get what's going on in here...

What's IIDB?
it's an atheist board. It has a thread in the bowels of it's forum which is titled 'Elsewhere'--- there is a thread totally devoted to this board where, amongst other things, the rules of this board are discussed and complained about. The irony of it is, they're pretty legalistic about enforcing their own roolz. At least that's been my experience with them. So much for enforcing the spirit of the law and not the letter of it.

So when did you go atheist?

Actually, go there and find out yourself! You will need to register at iidb and then you will see the ~elsewhere~ boards with the CF/4U thread

Go there and make your own view!

um... he's asking what it is... you didn't tell him what iidb is, then told him to go see it for himself.

I don't know what iidb is either, so this doesn't help me any.
