Conservatives lose majority in UK election, hung parliament declared

Although Prime Minister Theresa May called the election three years early in hopes of increasing the majority of the Conservative Party, her party lost its majority altogether. This was a surprise result, and the Labour Party made significant gains in its number of seats. The UK now has a hung parliament.

That tends to happen in Parliamentary systems. But Prime Minister May could still form a minority government. That could complicate things (like Brexit negotiations etc.), but she's a seasoned hand and I think she'll be OK .

That seems to be the way these things go. Terrorists stoke up their attacks in advance of an election and the electorate responds with "maybe they'll leave us alone if we give them the country."
