  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Condoms, most birth control pills and celibacy/abstinence are meant to prevent pregnancy.

An abortion does just what it says it does...it aborts...which means the pregnancy is already in progress.

THAT is your difference.

So the problem is that you are preventing something that could be a human from becoming a human. By that logic isn't using a condom doing that as well?

No, an unborn human is still human. It's not as if you were not human at one point and became human at another point. You always were human, from the time of your conception.

Funny, I've grown lots of crystals.

Dead organisms don't grow.

I was hoping that celibacy would make it obvious. Neither celibacy, or condoms, destroy life. There are some Christians who look at contraception as an evil - I don't happen to share that point of view.

But, that's not to disrespect their beliefs, I just don't happen to share it.

Just as I don't share the beliefs of an atheist about God, salvation, heaven.

The willful destruction of an embryo is an attempt to stop it from becoming what it would naturally be - a human being. That is what abortion is. It's not condoms, it's not celibacy... it is murder.

16 year old rape victims? There are options... there are plenty of people who cannot have children, and would love to adopt. More often, abortion is just a way of disposing of an "inconvenience". The law gives cover to that, but it does not to many other "inconveniences"; why is that?

You have watched them become extended by means of crystallization a process of chemical precipitation. They are not alive.

Actually once that life is begun it is a human being then and there no matter what name may be applied to "it". That "it" is a human being until God changes "it" to something else. People are the ones that created delineations and divisions, not God.

No, an unborn human is still human. It's not as if you were not human at one point and became human at another point. You always were human, from the time of your conception.

Exactly!!!

The difference between a fetus and a baby is whether it's wanted.

In ALL of my pregnancies, I never once referred to the child growing in my womb as a fetus. One doctor did, and I never went back to that doctor. All the rest of them called it a baby. "Do you want to hear the baby's heartbeat?" "Your baby just kicked me!". Not even at my very first ultrasound, at 8 weeks, did the doctor use the term fetus.

It may be the medical term, but the majority of laypeople using it aren't using it as a medical term. It's a sanitized word. Just like women who have miscarriages don't walk around saying "I spontaneously aborted my baby".

If I could stand and applaud, I would. :amen:

Fetus is a medical term used to sanitize the reality a baby brings.
