CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How's things todaisy?
Got borin' stuff to do today. Got to go to my university and pay a staggering library book fine (you're only allowed to borrow a book for a week; I've had a couple out for three months
). Then I've got to do a bit more writing and editing on my dissertation which is driving me up the wall - it's over a hundred pages long and still not finished.
Yesterday was good though. Several of us from my church did a prayer walk around the council estates in our parish where there's lots of people with problems such as heroin addictions, alcoholism, bad parenting etc...
God used the image of a tree sprouting new shoots to speak of the revival that's just starting to occur here. We're gonna do those prayer walks quite regularly - I love them. I like going into some of the darkest areas and lifting up the people to God, asking him to turn around the situation there.
