However, if these things have a truly scientific basis (I'm talking, "the way things just are" like the world being round, not theories such as whether evolution is true or not) then that would suggest they follow the laws of the physical world, laws that God put into place Himself. That in turn would suggest that telekinesis and telepathy, on a scientific level and not as an Occult practice, are in fact things God intended for us to use in our time here on earth. This was the first dent in my faith today.
Just because God put any laws into place does not mean that we were meant to use/exploit these powers. God put natural poisons on this Earth, but I would doubt they are for casual use. Not the best analogy perhaps, but I hope you see where I am going.
I personally think that there is much to the spirit realm that we obviously do not see. I think there are powers (prayer, fasting, righteous living) that bring us power that we can not understand. Conversely, there are other powers we can tap into
at a cost.
I am not convinced that chi (eastern theology) is complete bunk. I think that there are energies and powers that science cannot measure. It is pure arrogance to assume that something does not exist just because we cannot measure it.
1 Corinthians 1:

Point being, as much as we think we know, we are incapable of any real knowledge apart from God. We think we know, but we just dont know, and we never will. (Happy Gilmore? paraphrase)
